Bit lean on the ground once the ball hits the deck. But will certainly worry opposition coaches.

We will get to the point at AFL level soon where the selected back 6 will depend on the weekly matchups.

You’d be surprised

King very good at ground level - average defensive pressure
Keeler very good at ground level - good defensive pressure
Caminiti good at ground level - good defensive pressure
Higgins very good at ground level - poor defensive pressure
Collard Elite at ground level - vey good defensive pressure
Hotton/Garcia very good at ground level - elite defensive pressure
Owens/Phillipou elite at ground level - Owens elite pressure
Phillipou average defensive pressure

I can also assure you
He’s not as good a mark
Is not as quick
Is not as powerful
Not as agile
They are both 193cm. That is all.

And that’s where the comparison ends!

And to trust the accuracy of website HT and Wt is a bit naive.

Nick probably around 193-195

Sharman 191-193

If he is NOT a bust and becomes an AFL player

It gives us

King 202cm - Power Forward
Caminiti 196cm - Power Forward
Keeler 198cm - Forward/Ruck
Owens/Phillipou 190cm - Hybrid/Mid

Higgins 178cm - Small Forward
Collard 180cm - Small Forward
Hotton/Garcia 180cm - HF/Mid

All
I agree,

Even better I think Caminiti has hit 198cm and Keeler 200cm and a few extra kegs.

Not mentioned officially other than SOS mentioning Caminiti hit 198 just after we recruited him. But Keeler is clearly taller than him and Van Es.

King is a lock when fit, though will he stay fit? And will he continue on his current path of being a 50-60 goal per year forward (from a full season) or will he hit another level and start kicking 70-80?

Will Higgins improve his consistency and play his best footy regularly? If he does, he can easily kick 50 in a season. If inconsistency remains an issue he'll be around the 30 goal mark.

Will Membrey even play again?

Does Sharman put it all together and become a gun forward or does he remain on the fringe?

Is Caminiti just a big clumsy body that we had to play because there was no one else or is he going to be an athletic beast will improved endurance, smarts and skills with more time to develop?

Where do Owns/Pou/Wilson end up playing and what level do they reach?

Is Collard the next Milne or will he struggle and go home to the WAFL when his contract is up?

Keeler has skills and athleticism that could see him become a superstar but he has a long way to go.

Does Hayes go up a level now that he's a year removed from his ACL injury?

Does Heath force his way into the senior team?

The only one that I think I can confidently and accurately make a judgement on is Allison. I will say he's not going to be a part of our next premiership forward line....
That was a good read and objective without the fanboy hype, I like
Oh come on.

The first paragraph said it all. Then all the guesses filled the page.

Oh, I see why you liked it.

I worry about Keeler he looks lost in the forward line at that was at sandy sometimes did some good things but needs to work harder.
do we give him a stint as a KPD at Sandy might help him develop a bit better and can always play forward again if needed.

Not sure we can count on Membrey again

I'd like to see us develop the young blokes together into a unit
King and Caminiti - Key talls
Sharman and Owens - Mid sized marking
Phillipou Higgins - Mid - Small forwards

Keeler and Collard off the bench

All 24 or under, most are under 21

I would also include Butler but Membrey only comes in if we are hit with injuries.

I don't get that vibe from Keeler that he's not working hard enough, in fact, the opposite.

I think he needs to work on his tank so he can maintain the rage for longer because he would often gas out after half-time.

Apparently, he's come back in excellent shape so will be good to see how he goes.

10 games
First five weeks were his pre-season after a summer of rehab and no ball work.
Averaged 10p 4m and kicked 12.14 or something and put a couple out of bounds.
He rucked in 7 of his 10, mainly boundary and got 2.5 per game in one or 2 stints but he didn't really follow the ball much but took some marks in the defensive half.

If 4m 10p and 3 shots on goal is his induction from rehab, I'm looking forward to him getting through a solid run all summer.

Has everyone written off Jack Hayes?
Not sure why he is not in the discussion about forward line options....

I detect a keeler fanboy 😊

Well I think I picked Wilson and Arie from a ways out and was Keeler fan boy from the first highlight reel I saw.
Now there was a few goals but there was also some pretty impressive work off the ball.
Given the athletic traits alone, we are in the Paddy Ryder zone, pretty unique but Keeler is closer to 200 and has some impressive standing and running leap numbers.
He has taken some spectacular marks at FF, he has charged to the 50, swung around and kicked a goal from 50 and he has picked the ball up at the wing, avoided two tackles with strength and speed and delivered it to the square.
He can drop them in from 55 - 60 metres after bursting through the 50 on the lead.
Hopefully last year was about blowing out cobwebs and grounding the basics.
It's a good base.
Yeah I'm a fanboy.

Defensive pressure is good for locking it in, but to kick goals you need ball winners at ground level before the defensive cavalry arrives.

We need true crumbing, front and centre small forwards. Higgins and Butler have been playing as "over the back" running forwards.

Hopefully Collard can fill this role.

Butler could even go to a midfielder tagging role, that can hurt on the rebound.

I'm more "optimistic" and "hopeful" than fanboy, but I'll be straight on the bandwagon once he starts getting senior games.

I think 2024 will see a bit more changing of the guard when it comes to selection. Not quite tanking, but keeping experienced players as depth.

I'm not expected the second coming of Buddy Franklin, but if that is coming and he has had a full pre-season, we are gonna see some this year.
Having said that, I'd love to see him kick may 20 - 25 goals in the first half of the VFL and ruck 20 minutes a games.

That would be reassuring and is certainly not out of the question.

So great views guys I like Keeler and really hope he kills it in 2024 just haven't seen him do enough in games.
Yes he was injured but he was back for a large chunk of the season as well lets hope he gets leading pattens worked out.
