Re: Best teams
That's 43 Saints players, does mean they can pick 1 more, either Rookie or SSP ?
I see you've included McKenzie and so have i in my count.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Best teams
Interesting look at two teams.
In order for us to improve, some or all of the following needs to happen by 2025.
- NWM takes the wing spot from Wood or HF from Hill (pending fitness, form, retirement)
- 2 of Van Es, Schoenmaker, Hastie takes Battle, Webster, and NWM's defensive spot
- Owens in the middle
- 2 of Caminiti, Sharman, Keeler takes Membrey and Owens spot up forward.
- Heath finds a way into the side (??)
- Collard takes either Butler or Higgins spot
The most interesting point is the 2nd and 3rd tall forwards.

Re: Best teams
Pretty close to how I have them except Sharman gets his spot ahead of Hayes for Round 1.
Will be interesting to see by Round 10 how many of those first year players have pushed into the seniors.
Wilson and Collard look the most likely.
Clark most under the pump this year to lift in order to hold his spot.

Re: Best teams
Ah yes
Byrnes - the missing mid at Sandringham
I have included Hayes for his ability to play forward/ruck
To chop out Max and Rowan
Best side is actually in the future
Post
Ross, Crouch, Jones, Hill, Webster, Howard, Wood
And even then again after
Steele, Marshall, Sinclair, Butler
4/5years time - Without new draftees
Schoenmaker- Van Es - Stocker
Hastie - Battle - Wanganeen Milera
Wilson - Owens - Henry
Hotton - Caminiti - Windhager
Collard - King - Keeler
Heath - Phillipou - Dow
Clark - Garcia - ????? - ?????
Obviously projection with 4 future fist rounders

Re: Best teams
Sharman has some attributes- can kick, can mark, has good endurance for a medium tall
But he is undersized, and lacks the agility and ground level skills for a player of his size imo.
He has a few tricks but deficiencies as well.
If he was 197 and 94 not 193/86 he’d be a different proposition

Re: Best teams
unless he trains poorly you'd think Sharman plays given his game in the dinals. oustanding first ever final for the lad. looked a lot more composed than many of his experienced teammates.

Re: Best teams
Only 7 spots for forwards
Only 3 for talls - one probably hybrid
I think it depends on how Membrey goes next season

Re: Best teams
The marketing team took photos of players arriving for Day 1 of training. This is what they wrote about Cooper:desertsaint wrote: ↑Mon 27 Nov 2023 12:38am unless he trains poorly you'd think Sharman plays given his game in the dinals. oustanding first ever final for the lad. looked a lot more composed than many of his experienced teammates.

Re: Best teams
Not the best team, but the team I’d love to see force their way into round one with some young players forcing existing players out of the line up.
Wilkie Battle Howard
Hastie NWM Sinclair
Wood Crouch Henry
Marshall Steele Owens
Hill Butler Collard
King Phillipou Sharman
Higgins Wilson Windhager Keeler
Sub: Clark
EMG: Dow, Jones, Ross, Membrey, Webster,
# Elite run and kicking out of the back half
# Pace, running power & pressure through the middle and forward half
# I really wanted Daddy Cool (Ross Wilson) on the bench
Probably not going to happen, but I’d love to see the very talented Keeler, Collard & Wilson have some game time early.
I think the smokie from the new kids might be Angus Hastie, has the size, all the attributes RTB loves and is the type that may blossom really quickly in an elite training environment.

Re: Best teams
I've got to agree with DB a bit but I might be forecasting the end of year best team.
Wilkie Howard Webster
Nas Battle Sinclair
Hill Windhager Henry
Marshall Steele Clark
Wilson Caminiti Owens
Keeler King Higgins
Crouch Hotton Phillipou Dow Wood
I have a feeling Keeler is the key to all of this.
I believe if he can come in as a fwd now, he will develop as part time midfield/ruck role and become devasting with Marshall in tandem.

Re: Best teams
Yep, I have checked, carried my lantern, deep through the musty corridors of history, down medieval tunnels to the bottom of a monastery on an Italian hill, in which is stored an ancient scroll upon which was once scribed, Jack Hayes: knee surgery.NickyDal wrote: ↑Mon 27 Nov 2023 3:28pmHe is still on the list but IMHO he only plays if Sharman gets injured. Re: Best teams
If this is true then put a line through him. Put him on the LTI list and grab a smokey in the mid season draft if there is one. There is no room for sentiment.bobmurray wrote: ↑Tue 28 Nov 2023 2:56pmAccording to Tony74 yesterday, Hayes is injured, again.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Mon 27 Nov 2023 2:35pm So what is the status ofJack Hayes now?
