Re: Darcy Wilson
Doesn’t sound like Wilson is our preferred choice.
Edwards looks very fast and exactly what we need.

Re: Darcy Wilson
I think Cal hasn’t got the right info and won’t be nailing this draft order. There’s a lot of moving components and a lot of bid matching. Cal never gets Sydney’s first pick ever. I don’t think we will be getting Demattia. He looks s*** with less than 20 disposals (avg 14) for a pure mid - yeah no thanks. He’s small and will get smashed in the middle. He’s not robust like a Zak butters.
I see us getting Wilson or Edwards for our first pick.
Dawson for our second.
A trade with Melbourne and Goldcoast to nab Cooper Simpson for our third pick.
Our fourth is anyone’s game.

Darcy lives down the road from me in the same street and hung around my young bloke playing cricket , footy and B Ball. Was up until last year in the Vic U/18's cricket program selected as a promising fast bowler, but had to make a choice. His Dad Mick currently works with the Murray Bushrangers as a talent scout and is considered a Wangaratta Rovers legend in the Ovens & Murray Football league. Mick represented Vic Country numerous times through out his footy career, and his uncle is Mick Nolan ( Galloping Gasometre) who played with North. I have so many sporting stories about Darcy I could say, but my post would go on forever......Quite simply one of those generational kids that everybody has gone to school with that dominates every& any sport they participate in. Unbelievable athlete aswell, has participated and ran at Vic Schoolboy national champs in athletics and holds just about every athletics record at his old school (Galen College)... Praying the Saints get access to him for selfish reasons, whole family are North supporters!

We’ll all be judging you’re eye for talent from now on

Absolutely stoked! The gold with Darcy apart from his athletic ability is that he has been driven from an early age. I remember numerous times being at my house and choosing to drink water rather than softdrink or eating fruit instead of chips and lollies... And that was at a young age aswell.. Understood the importance of nutrition and a good diet early.....Running beast, Ross will love him... Go Saints!!!

A really good need's-type selection, here's hoping he can turn into something special as a midfielder/forward.

Only Knock on him Mate is he is very outside... I have seen him play all through his JNR's from u12's to u18's, but has always had the class to read the game and run hard to the right places..As my Son keeps reminding me the AFL has changed and not everyone is required to run inside and get there own ball, AFL has become a running game look at Collingwood for example... Clubs need Darcy types in there best 22.. Kicks both sides of his body which will be a advantage to him aswell. Was drilled by his Dad Mick from a early age to be efficient on both sides of the body ....

Re: Darcy Wilson
Unlike the number #1 draft pick who loves McDonalds. It might not matter as much in juniors, but when you have to back up week after week and your body needs high protein nutrient rich food, then it’s the small things that can create the difference between a good player versus a champion*murray 66 wrote: ↑Mon 20 Nov 2023 9:57pm Absolutely stoked! * Having said that, there are freaks with talent who defy common sense eating. E.g. Pies and dim sims didn’t seem to impact a legend like Plugger

Re: Darcy Wilson
This line jumped out at me.
"Wilson was also in the top eight for agility testing – just 0.11 seconds behind Subiaco’s Lance Collard who took out the drill."
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Re: Darcy Wilson
The 5:54 in the 2k goes ok too.
He also did well in vertical and horizontal leap. Safe to say he is a prime age athlete. Putting on 7 kg this year might help his inside game if he can do it again.
