True BM

Was some discussion re his possible willingness to settle O/S WA

Hope he is willing to give it a real crack after the disappointment of moving states...

If you don’t mind me saying BM…

If we spoke about forumites like we do about prospective players, I’d say your draft posting is elite and you deliver year after year at the highest level 8-)

Right or wrong, I appreciate the insights

Go home factor particularly to WA always a risk.

So,
Who did we move up to Pick 27 (originally) to grab?
I wonder if it was for someone, or just a better quality pick.

Trying to join the dots; neither excellent recruits are KPs, so Heath, Van Es, maybe Keeler to debut next year? Allison must lift?

I like the look of Zane Zakostelsky.

Freo traded up to 38 to get him with their first pick. I'd love to steal him.

Top 10 in 4 of 5 test at combine. Very fast, very agile, great leap at bounces and and marks everything.

At 196 and 90 he looks very strong compared to the 200cm 75-85kg versions getting around, showing superior strength and leap at throw ins.

Could easily develop into a May type interceptor/defender, who can run the ball out of defence.

Skills need improving but his athletic profile is worth the risk.

I think this could be the result of picks being used to match bids

As soon as we got in 42, we bundled it with our 40 and shipped it off to GC for 27, which has now slid to 33.
Simples.

So who do we take next?

Schoenmaker still available, as is Murphy if we want a key defence

Simpson still there if we want more midfield run

Pretty sure West Coast will take him with their first pick tonight.

Scare tactics to keep their NGA talent, I reckon.

Best time for a change of scenery is 18yo.

Are we a chance of picking Docking or Nish from our NGA?

There have been 13 deals done last night and tonight, and we have been involved in 4 of them. Good to see SOS up and about. Of course they could turn out to be crap, but on the face they all look sensible .

I dunno, trading next years 3rd for #50 for a bolter when #52 went for a future 4th didn't look great. Of course we don't know if Garcia was just about to be picked.

We had a chance to recruit Archie Roberts who was rated higher than Garcia. Interesting choice.

Archie Roberts is a half back flank with speed/endurance and poor defensive skills. Code for not in the top 6 mids.

Garcia is a two way runner, mid/forward with advanced defensive skills.

Apples and oranges maybe?.

Hope so. I was just going by the phantom draft but happy to take your word for it.

I don’t like the way Roberts kicks the ball. He brings the ball up high and it looks like he takes too long to put it on the boot. I’m not sure he’ll get away with doing that at senior AFL level.
