AFL Flips 2024 Fixture on it's head to compete with their plan to grow the game in the northern states.

Wow
And March 7th starting date!!
Four complete rounds in March??
Geelong’s ‘ok boys will still be in crutches ‘n wheelchairs from their summer operations.
Meanwhile, our young colts will be sprinting across the wet tropical grass and Cooper Sharman will market a new kind of ‘Tropical Glove’ to mark that greasy ball. Feb is their highest rainfall and highest humidity, so as usual the AFL put real sense to the test.

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
The marketing ideas are dominating AFL now. No common sense balance from operations people.
Comp will slowly lose its traditional mores until it suddenly loses fan interest in a few years, will fall off a cliff if trend continues.
Unjustified advantages to North. Swapping picks a nonsense bastardisation of evening up draft talent, father son largesse.
Special conditions for interstate teams, broken judiciary - let the stars off, don't upset Collingwood, hopelessly inconsistent/arbitrary - owned by gambling, deteriorating stadiums and game day experiences, poor umpiring, poor commentating, uneven playing field draw wise, hopeless Chairman, light weight newby executives trying to make a mark. Social justice special causes focus rather than the essence of the game. Concussion, interference in coaching moves, ticketing problematic.
Football in early March in an el nino year. Good one.
We are already desensitised to the crap valueless food and drink, rude gate attendants, security invasiveness and getting wet in the showpiece MCG. They think fans will cop anything, and will be right until they aren't.

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
Are those game times local or AEDT? If the Suns tigers game is at 220 pm local time, well, just insane for early March with the heat. Even if it’s 320pm, it is dumb

Don't forget that the balls are now super slippery so that the gloss can show off the sponsors' name. And as Chicken Bin says, it will be heat, or it will be night slippage central.saynta wrote: ↑Thu 16 Nov 2023 10:53amWell said mate. Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
Our first home game at Docklands isn't until Round 6!
We play just three home games at Docklands in the first 12 rounds, but we travel to Geelong, Adelaide twice, Canberra, Launceston and Perth.
Draw becomes a little friendlier from Round 13 onwards.

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
I reckon on first look this is the best draw we've had in decades. We're playing Birsbane, Richmond, Port, Essendon, Geelong and West Coast twice. ENtirely plausible that Brisbane are the only of those sides to make the 8 and at least 3 finish bottom 4.

Season could be over by then.
5 interstate trips in 12 games.
How many times does Collingwood travel during that time?
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
That’s what I was thinking …
A rationale POV is just that;
Rough start, the. The inevitable injuries and slump
On the other hand
Somehow against the odds like last season - and in the first month of Ratts’s last season, we could be up and ready..
But that is in the realm of wishes
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

That actually sucks in my opinion.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Cats will be confident and start short priced favourites. However......

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
lol
Yeah
We need pain
We need to cry n bitch
But there is still the possibility
Are any of you still feeling excited about the return of Ross-the-Boss?
I am still very much excited
Not cruising at 33K
But at 21k
It still feels huge to me
That ‘we’ did it
Ratts and Richo are nicer
But we will be in this gear for three years I’d say
One down, two-ta-go
Then we will be talking a different language
The tone and the tune will change
Maybe for the better?
Who knows?
Maybe for the worse.
