Re: Who do we want in the ND
I'd take a punt on Charlie Edwards, straight up. Big boy with pace, endurance, good hands and a long boot. Could be the steal of the decade.
It's a good draft to take a chance on a smokie and the kids athletic profile is hot.

Re: Who do we want in the ND
Amazing how people say he can’t kick …..ever tried running flat out and hit a target on the chest …..not easy to do 10/10 times. Sometimes the receiver might actually have to try and get to where the ball is going not give up like our messiah. Have a good look a Dunstall and Lockett hawks just used to kick it down to forward line he would meet it same as plugger our mids would kick it up he’d meet it if it was going for his chest couldn’t be beat if it was high he’d change his approach and still tough to beat

Best available!

So if the best available are all talls you are happy with that 3 talls, I would be we can always get a mids not always get a good either KPP or Ruck 2024 draft will have not that many good talls so we need to get some now.

With FRDPs
You always go best available- regardless
You are drafting a ten to fifteen year player - immediate needs don’t come into it!

Re: Who do we want in the ND
Not sure who Toce and the brains trust has in mind for our first pick, but I like Charlie Edwards or Harry DeMattia or Will McCabe for our second pick

Not necessarily, Foxsports ranks DeMattia at 29 in the pecking order, St Kilda's 2nd pick currently 21 will drift out but not as far as 29....

Re: Who do we want in the ND
If we can land Tholstrop and DeMattia with our first 2 picks, that would change our dynamic pretty quickly. Add Moir with our 3rd pick, and we would be exciting to watch.Sanctorum wrote: ↑Mon 13 Nov 2023 12:44pmNot necessarily, Foxsports ranks DeMattia at 29 in the pecking order, St Kilda's 2nd pick currently 21 will drift out but not as far as 29....

Yep if they are the best available it doesn't matter how tall they are.

Re: Who do we want in the ND
Ridiculous that they make it over 2 days. The guys that aren't in the 1st round are made to wait another day to see whether they get picked up. I think it adds more stress for them.

Re: Who do we want in the ND
Does the draft really need to be this late in the year? Why not straight after the trade period.
Aside from the personal frustrations of waiting, the new players can get into their clubs and oriented.

Re: Who do we want in the ND
As long as they don’t take a small forward at the top part of the draft. And unless they are elite, I wouldn’t take a defender.
We need midfield talent
