A shame it didn’t pan out after showing some promise in 2021. All the best for the future, Tom.

Will be a decent pickup for another team.

Our strong back 6 meant that he was depth, but in my opinion is a solid AFL level player for a club that suits.

I expect someone like Hawthorn or North Melbourne to pick him up.

Gotta feel for him - the only thing that will prevent him from playing 100 AFL games is his tendency to make a couple of shocking unforced errors with the footy each game. Not sure why we waited so long to delist him. Would've been better for his chances to get to another list if we let him go earlier you'd think.

Now if you could combine Tom's marking, height and initiative with JB's field kicking you would have a player. Would never kick a set shot goal of course but handy defender.

Of course Jack did, you'd have to have an unbelievable bad memory or an altered experience of reality to not give him credit for his performance before he faltered.

Think he was contracted until today. Standard date of expiry date of player contracts was today that’s why we are seeing a flurry of delistings publicly announced today across the AFL.

Deserves another chance. A better player than Matt Allison by a fair way.

He's 193cm but doesn't play particularly well one on one, but he reads the game well. I've seen many worse players play 50+ games for us

I think the main problem with Highmore is his disposal- he turns it over too much and is not a long kick.
I watched a fair bit of Sandy as he would read it well but the turnovers meant it was coming back from 50 metres from goal.

He is also 25 and hasn't broken into a team that's played 3 finals in his time at the club. Again i'll say it's more the product of our solid backline than his ability or performance.

Hopefully not

But you watch

After few injuries last year in the back 6

Bloody Wilkie and Battle will be injured and we’ll have FA back up!

After Cordy, who now is our next tall defender in

Van Es is a mile off

Highmore is probably cover for Wilkie, and with Wilkie playing what 100 odd in a row he has not had much opportunity.

Not big enough or good enough one on one as a key defender, he reads it very well and has great hands but is behind Wilkie & Battle in the hybrid intercept style role. Average disposal doesn’t help.

Agree with above, there are a lot of players not as good as Tom who have played many more games for the club than Tom.

Good luck getting another opportunity, but I don’t think he will.

They must have someone lined up that they think is better backup.
