Re: Billings wants out
I wouldn't be surprised that Jack called for a new club when the writing was on the wall. Sad to see him go and it wasn't his fault he was overpaid, that lies with our previous club management. I wish him all the best for the future.
I am happy with the In's so far and hope we see a few more young faces with great potential and I expect plenty of positive development from the players and staff before next season begins - Let's hope we move up another step next year.

I believe his spirit left the building the week he was available to play a game and pulled out with “hamstring awareness”…aka I’m outa this place so wrap me in cotton wool.SaintWiki wrote: ↑Thu 19 Oct 2023 4:00pm I wouldn't be surprised that Jack called for a new club when the writing was on the wall. Re: Billings wants out
Not overpaid at Melbourne
They get a 155 game player who averages 20ppg for 250k
We get to pay 250k for zero - in fact for Jack to play against us
It’ll be fkn hilarious if he kicks a few goals against us - and we are paying him!!!
Mismanaged list

Re: Billings wants out
Being a quarter of a mill better off for talking someone into removing junk is good negotiation.
As for JB kicking goals on us. Say he does get a go with Dee's as their list goes crazy, fight each other, get drug suspensions, get ironed out by Pie thugs: who is he going to kick goals on, Sincs, NWM, Battle, Wilkie?
He's taken early retirement.

Re: Billings wants out
Lol as long as it’s not 25 out straight in front I’d give him no hope
Shocking kick for goal
That’s IF he doesn’t get injured or simply go missing for 3 quarters..
Space freed up on list
$ saved
Wise business
“Yeah….nah””

Re: Billings wants out
Played ok in a few games in his career but generally soft. Home and away he was serviceable without having an outstanding year.
Was ordinary in 2020 in finals. Vanilla. Not in the worst players on ground, but no where near any of the better players in those 2 games.

Re: Billings wants out
Absolutely correct. Been saying for years that Billings was a very average footballer who cruised through most of his games.
The fault lies in our previous football department who kept him on lucrative contracts unbelievably for over 10 years.
Anyone with an ounce of footy smarts would not do this and it's dumb list management decisions like this, among others, that has continued to hold the club back since 09/10.
Thank God Lyon, Harvey, Hayes and co saw through him quickly. He needed to be off-loaded and saving $$ off the cap was the best we could have hoped for, seeing the previous idiots signed him up till the end of 2025.
