Coffield for macrae plus a pick
Dogs need salary cap relief
We need A grade mids
Yes macrae is 29 but he is durable and will play well beyond 30
Why not pick 35 plus coffield for macrae
Dogs get another pick for their father son and much needed salary cap relief
Macrae slipped out of the midfield onto a wing or half forward for the dogs - we need mids - surplus to them
Thoughts?

Re: Coffield for macrae plus a pick
If the dogs agreed to that, sign immediately, lodge with the AFL and go directly to Jack Macrae's house to pick him up and lock him in RSEA park before the men in the white coats come to commit Sam Power as being clinically insane and have the whole thing vetoed.maverick wrote: ↑Tue 17 Oct 2023 8:27am Dogs need salary cap relief

Re: Coffield for macrae plus a pick
Interesting isn’t it, I flagged pick 21 with my dogs mates and they said that’s overs - pick 35 would get it done.
They need points for Croft f/s and need salary cap relief to sign English
He is 30 when the season starts next year
Everyone though the pies were a basket case dumping treloar and Stephenson and Grundy - but look what they do to their list
It’s not always as it seems

Probably does not fit into the club’s strategy.
They want to off load highly paid players to make a bid for free agents over the next few years most likely.

As much as this appeals, I can't imagine Footscray parting ways with a key and elite playmaker like Jackson Macrae who still has 3 years left on his contract.
But stranger things have happened...

Great idea and he'd be exactly the type of player we need for now. Aside from freeing up cap space, it would also allow for Bailey Smith to get the midfield minutes that he's after.

The great thing is that Sydney is soooooo going to make the Dullbogs pay way overs for Jamara. They've committed a huge chunk of their cap to Naughton; will do so again for English. And then have to pay even more than those two to keep Jamara.
Personally, I hope it blows their club up.
Go you red, black & white warriors

Dullbogs need to Coff up pick 40.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Coffield for macrae plus a pick
Yeah. If he'd had some class and any investment in the club/team mates, he would have accepted the one year deal just like Byrnes, Jones, and Stocker did.
Interestingly, there was a club video put out a couple of months ago where players were asked who had the most intense personality out of the playing group and most players said Nick Coffield.
It's interesting, and it could be construed rather negatively.
Intense and driven (I don't think so)?
Intense and moody (maybe)?
Anyway, an interesting observation by his (former) team mates

Still think he has the chance to become a good player. I always thought he didn't like the physical stuff and would poop his pants when standing under a high ball. Out of Coffield and Clark I know who I'd choose out of the two, and I'm glad he's still with us
