Personally, I don’t mind losing Coffield but at the end of 2024, when he may have some value. Right now, he’s not worth anything.

Re: Dullbogs sniffing around Coffield
Ross has achieved a few things in his career
Coffield has not
Ross missed a goal from 49 - I reckon Tony Lockett missed the odd goal from that distance- in fact he went at 68% over his career so he missed 3/10.
BTW
Ross is not a noted goal kicker - like many inside Mids
He is also not great over head - like many mids
He’s got elite hands, finds the ball and is a gut runner
Strengths required to be an inside mid
Coffield is an intercept/running back - who occasionally s***s himself - other times he takes quite courageous marks
Maybe a confidence thing, not sure?
But he’s no star

Seb has been a solid contributor over 200 odd games and is a good AFL B grade midfielder.B.M wrote: ↑Fri 15 Sep 2023 12:30am Ross has achieved a few things in his career

I have been and remain a Seb fan.
Tough, gut runner, solid citizen, team player.
Every team/ club loves this type of player.
But it took Seb 5 years in the system to become an AFL standard mid and to have real impact. He obviously worked his arse off, got super fit and good on him.
Coffield’s first 3 seasons in the AFL were superior to those first 3 of Seb, he reportedly got himself seriously fit at the start of 2022 but did a knee and had two seasons out.
The comparison of Seb and Nick are as ludicrous as the comparison of Plugger missing goals when Sebs questionable kicking is queried.
Not sure suggesting Nick “s***s himself” is reasonable either. Some young guys take time to harden. Look at Sinclair, he was not physical in his early years but has really turned that around.
Obviously Clark and Coffield are now suffering the Billings judgement, looking at their draft number as opposed to what they can offer.
I’d rather keep Coffield as there is potential upside, and we’d get nothing for him right now.
There's only one rule in the jungle! When the LYON's hungry, he eats!

Re: Dullbogs sniffing around Coffield
How do we get the deal done, can we get one of their mids as a swap ?
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Dullbogs sniffing around Coffield
Coff played series of good serviceable games a couple of years back, but he is in a grey area like Billings and a few others- if they can't get fully over injury and fully fit and back to their best form, then it will be tough to get a game. I think Lyon really wants strong, uninjured bodies and couldn't do much about Steele carrying injury as there was no real backup to slot in to the midfield, and Bytel was injured a few times at Sandy. Just shows how we little we have developed midfielders in recent years.

Re: Dullbogs sniffing around Coffield
Almost every AFL player gets injured at some point it’s part and parcel of playing the game!
Whether early, mid or lat in their career!
Ie/was Dan Hannebery injury prone?
No - he played over 200 games from his debut until he was 27 after that his body failed!

Too slow.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
