Women’s team
Something is broken there
Scoreless at HT and getting pumped
Recruiters picked up a heap of older players who won’t take them anywhere
Why don’t they build a list from the draft?
Find a group of 17-21yo girls and invest

Re: Women’s team
Nothing changes each season, there doesn't seem to be any improvement.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: Women’s team
Also worth noting that Caitlin Greiser (spelling?) kicked the winning goal for Richmond today from about 40-45m out from the posts. The shot went through at 3/4 post height from that distance.

Re: Women’s team
She was the G Train? Is that right? Yes, it doesn't make any sense getting rid of good players. Maybe they wanted to leave.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Women’s team
No issues with the coach - other than he is implementing a game plan that the girls are not skilful or fit enough to implement
Dal should be VFL/Dev coach in the men’s program
Nathan Burke coach of the girls

Re: Women’s team
I'd give Dal a bit more time before potting him with his new line-up. First half was disastrous but leaves maximum room for a quick rise upwards when coming from zero. The girls must have been devastated and I would imagine they'll be eager to work hard to improve quickly and although they were in such disarray, they did keep one of the better teams to just 8 goals, principally due to their tackling pressure and improvement after half time.

Re: Women’s team
Honestly can't watch any of the women's games. At first it was just for curiosities sake but now I see the games being so scappy and skill less that I get more enjoyment watching women's soccer. And I don't really like soccer.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Women’s team
There is very little fluid ball movement from any of the AFLW teams.
Every possession seems to put the next player under pressure. Invites tackles (which they excel at, by the way).
To make the footy more watchable, I'd rather see fewer tackles and more possession chains that hit targets by hand and foot.
Currently, the AFLW is a long way off that.
North did it a little in the first half yesterday, but only because we were applying zero pressure.

Re: Women’s team
Have you watched any 1960s footy?
Kicking drop kicks along the ground
Barely a target hit, they just belted it forward - it was scrappy as all fk
Even the 66 GF is ordinary to watch - footy evolves
But at least back then players held position allowing for space and time for quick ball movement
Problem with the girls is
The girls are playing a squeeze up game (like the men) but aren’t powerful or skilful enough to get out of congestion hence it becomes scrappy.
They need to reduce numbers around the footy!
Only Jas Garner had the strength to bullock her way through players and clear the footy
And fkn Zoning doesn’t help!
Let the girls play - instead of stifling ball movement

Re: Women’s team
I like to see the girls do well but women's football is s***.
What's that Melbourne player's name that commentates on the footy?
She's the biggest pain with her whiny voice.
