MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello all
I'd like to welcome skeptic to the team as a new moderator of Saintsational.
skeptic has been a member and contributor to the forum for a long time now, and has ridden the waves with all of us over the journey. He knows the forum well.
Very generously, he has put his hand up to assist, and having now spoken to him a number of times both face to face and in DM+email, I am confident skeptic will make a fantastic moderator.
Over the next few weeks and months (probably post-season) we will sit down to revisit the forum rules and guidelines to create a condensed and simpler version for all to understand.
The common principles will remain, however, decency and respect to each other is paramount. skeptic has some great ideas about how to continue to build and grow the forum community and I look forward to seeing and hearing more.
While I will continue to ask for more assistance to build a robust moderation group, I do ask that everyone refrain and moves on from the personal attacks, baiting and abuse that we have all become accustomed to recent times so that less moderation is needed, not more. This is an exciting time for our footy club, let's all enjoy it.
Thanks to skeptic for putting his hand up to help, welcome aboard!

f***. I guess my time on here will be limited now.
Skeptic has made know his utter contempt of me over the years
That is the reason I never respond or rarely respond to his posts.

Re: MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Appreciate the kind words.
My hope is to positively contribute to this forum’s well being in some small way.
As N!ck pointed out, I’ve posted a long time… pretty much since mid high school (I’m in my 40s now). When the forum went down a few weeks ago, I thought for that perhaps it may have been gone for good… hence went it came back and the call for mods came out, I decided to try and help out.
For me, this is something of a trial and if ultimately it’s not the right fit then I’m prepared to walk away. In terms of plan/goal… I’m hoping to not have much of visible presence.
To add, I think the point that Saynta raises is a very fair one and does need to be addressed.
In speaking with N1ck, he outright asked me if I had any long running running feuds/conflicts with anyone and I told him about the strained relationship that Saynta and I have had for some years.
He put it to me and obviously I agreed that you can’t be a moderator on a forum like this with a view of carrying grudges/wanting to settle scores.
As such I’d like to make the following pledge to Saynta and any other forumites that I’ve had conflict with over the years…
I promise to do my best to be fair and equitable. I have no desire to settle old scores, persecute anyone or try to run forumites off the board. If you feel unhappy or unfairly treated specifically by me, I urge you to take it to Nick directly. He and I don’t know each other beyond a Zoom chat and he has no particular reason to favour/cover for me.
I hope you’ll all give me an opportunity to prove this.

Re: MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi all,
I’ve created thread on the admin forum to discuss any hot topics regarding questions, comments, concerns regarding how the forum is being run/moderated etc.
I’d like to direct those types of discussions there where possible and not detract from the topics on the main page. Happy to debate that point and whether or not this could/should be a sticky on the main page… but I figure you gotta start somewhere.
I’ll aim to check it everyday (or most days at least)
Direct link below. Cheers

Re: MODERATOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Seems a good appointment to me. I don't recall ever having had a run-in with Skeptic, but I do drink heavily, so there may have been incidents when I was black-out drunk?
Well done chap. A congratulatory can of badge polish is already in the mail as my welcome gift !!

Good luck sceptic, I'm sure you'll do a fine job!
"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."
