Ratten quits Norda Melbourne
Sorry that it ended up this way. Got shafted by the Saints but should never have been given a contract extension. Will always be remembered as a great footballer.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Ratten quits Norda Melbourne
The man deserves a rest from footy, the game was fantastic in helping him heal after the tragic loss he experienced but life must have been mostly a blur since…just at a guess.
A good man is Ratts.

Re: Ratten quits Norda Melbourne
A top fella Ratts, he didn't deserve to be shafted although I understood the reasoning which have become clearer with time. I was concerned about his health before he was sacked, more so afterwards. He did a good job as caretaker at North and didn't appear to have the weight of expectations on his shoulders. However, I still felt he appeared to need a break from the pressure of football.
Go get a job at a trout farm, a horticultural farm or something that gives you time to stop and smell the roses, Brett. You are deserving of a long and healthy life.

+1 agreed. Very poor form from the SS member concerned and I hope he also changes his avatar to something that is not disrespectful.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Of course the avatar in question is a contradiction in terms.
In that context the title speaks to its owner not the image?

I support freedom of speech, freedom of expression, but what people must realise is that those freedoms come with responsibilities as well. Unfortunately those keyboard warriors in social media land don’t understand it or choose to understand it.

Re: Ratten quits Norda Melbourne
i'm open to being convinced of that position
though
what i read
.... is the talk of 'supporting the two freedoms'
with none of the walk required to actually support them
mmmmm
then
what responsibilities ?
(given this id picture context)
who determines that responsibility for the 'keyboard warrior' to meet ?
a social justice warrior ?
hmmm

100% correct. No need to amend someone else's window into a soulless soul, they left it open. Enjoy the view, laugh at them & move on. Recognise the words, not the image, imagery or imagination.

As this has been specifically asked… it’s not really an area that I feel comfortable venturing into mostly for the reasons that ASIU articulated.happy feet wrote: ↑Fri 01 Sep 2023 6:50pmCould a moderator amend it?saynta wrote: ↑Fri 01 Sep 2023 4:10pmI think the forum has Buckley's chance at seeing that happen anytime soon.happy feet wrote: ↑Fri 01 Sep 2023 3:53pm+1 agreed. If anyone would like to discuss it further, I’ve created a thread in the admin forum here for these types of conversations.

What I am saying is post the truth and not lies. Attack the argument and not the person. Be respectful. Admit it when you have made a mistake or a genuinely wrong.asiu wrote: ↑Fri 01 Sep 2023 8:16pm i'm open to being convinced of that position

thats the positive polarity intent , well expressed
(caring about others as well as self)
though
that still leaves the negative polarity intent
(caring only of their conclusions)
and the fence sitters intent
(the 2 bob each way crowd/undecided as to where their moral allegiance lays)
who ALSO have their respective 'freedoms to choose'
a fair n open community has to accomodate all 3 types
... for thats the nature of our humanness
ie
Duds rights over rule our wonderings ponderings n pronouncements before the bell even rings for R1
... imo ... still.
if , fair 'n open community interaction is the goal
