Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
I thought he actually went OK. Gave everything, got to where the ball was. Set up a brilliant goal (centered). Not his biggest fan by a long shot but credit to him. The sub is arguably the hardest position on /off the ground.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
I thought he was good, especially in the third quarter.
If King and Ross are fit in two weeks time, I think he misses out, as does one of Sharman and Hayes: possibly Sharman. Clark to be the sub again.

Clark had only 53% game-time today.meher baba wrote: ↑Sat 26 Aug 2023 8:26pm I thought he was good, especially in the third quarter.

There must be a doubt about his fitness or he is carrying an injury, hence his selection as the sub in recent times.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
Yeah, his 12 3rd quarter possessions, including the horrendous pass to Membrey, were all horrendous.
Did you actually watch the game or do you just post this stuff when you wake up and go get another bottle?

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
Back on the dementia loop I see Curly, bagging young Byrnes, were you even at the game or we’re you listening to Harry Beitzel on 3KZ?
Byrnes was far from horrendous, in fact early in the 3rd was one of the players who got us back into the game with some hard run and decent delivery into the forward line.
Byrnes may never be a first 22 choice player, but your constant bagging of him is becoming as tedious and ridiculous as your umpire obsession.

Did some nice things.
I’m more concerned about Jack Higgins. He’s in horrible form.
Can we carry him into a final? He’s totally ineffective.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
His last kick summed him up. Received hands in space and launched a high up and under torpedo.
Panicky and far to many unforced errors.

Dont know what game you were watching. His introduction was crucial in our 3rd quarter turnaround.. He was outstanding in that quarter, turning the game in our favour.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
I’ve thought this for a while. But he’s the David Warner of our club: he’s not going to get dropped any time soon.

12 possessions in the third quarter against the #2 team in the league.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
Runs onto his left kicks the ball shallow as a result. Fumbles double grabs then puts a team mate under the pump.

Thankfully the rest of the team made no mistakes and went at 100% disposal efficiency. Drop Byrnes and the flag is ours because the rest of the team is perfect, allegedly.

All do but he makes the same fundamental mistakes.

Re: Sub Ryan Byrnes
Just seems funny that you're alone in this criticism of Byrne's game, as sub, last night. I doubt anyone is claiming him as our Gulden, Langdon or the 2nd coming of Keith Greig. You complain of umpiring bias, a lot. Don't you think, in this instance, you've let a bias effect your judgement?CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 27 Aug 2023 11:15amGhost Like wrote: ↑Sun 27 Aug 2023 11:13am Thankfully the rest of the team made no mistakes and went at 100% disposal efficiency. He isn’t up to it and his mistakes are costly.
