Kudos to Tim Watson
Tim was the only one in the media to tip us to make finals this season.
Most had us bottom 4…well done Tim!

Re: Cudos to Tim Watson
I'm surprised, nobody knows better about the Saints being in the bottom 4 than Tim.
Edit: To be fair to Tim I didn't remember that he won 10 games in his first season and had us finishing 10th, only a game and % out of the 8.

Re: Cudos to Tim Watson
Indeed. He called it after watching us beat Essendon in the last practice match.

Re: Cudos to Tim Watson
I think most of those 10 games won were in the first half of the season and still attributed to Stan Alves. I think under Watson we were fairly putrid and on the old fan forum he was referred to as the village idiot.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Well I must say that I’ve never said cudos before. Is this a new word?IluvHarvey wrote: ↑Fri 25 Aug 2023 12:32pm "Cudos to Tim Watson"

Watson and Watters
Both had a promising start..then seemed to go downhill
Richo and Ratts
Started uphill, like the lil choo choi train that could… several derailments

Re: Cudos to Tim Watson
It all came apart for Timmy at that Hawthorn comeback game. Spida Everitt giving away a succession of 50s then glaring at the coach's box as he was dragged. You just knew that discipline had collapsed.

Re: Kudos to Tim Watson
That was the beginning of a plummet to earth, and a horrible crash..
4 years it took for us to shoot back up like a rocket!
Not bad!
Compared to 2013-

Re: Kudos to Tim Watson
Watching Tim in this video is eye opening. He clearly wasn't a good speaker back then, but is fantastic in the media right now. I quite enjoy listening to him on SEN.
I reckon he could have given coaching a good crack if he didn't jump in the deep end and did some work on his communication skills first.

Re: Kudos to Tim Watson
St Kilda were committed to Drafting Watson after his retirement - it was a done deal on both sides
But Essendon somehow got wind and took him prior to the selection we were going to use
So he made his comeback with Essendon
Courtesy of those negotiations St Kilda felt an obligation, an obligation which played out by him being appointed Coach absent any experience
Unfortunately, Coaching material he was not - and the rest is history
He was a Coach in name only
