The point is we are getting a dream run with the umpires, the best in the competition this season yet some still maintain the umpires are biased and cheat against.

I don’t know why the umps are favoring us, but let’s hope it continues.
We’re obviously their favorite team at the moment, or has the AFL pivoted and are now instructing the umpires to cheat with the saints as the major beneficiary?

I'm loving it. Part of the issue is that our crowd have gotten louder, that influences things. Part is that we are becoming known for being hard-running and high pressure,lots of tackles, those sort of things undoubtedly cause unconscious bias in umpires, they are after all, vaguely human.......
Personally I am just enjoying on the right side of the ledger for a change...and I have seen us be awarded some VERY soft frees this year for some reason. And even the Cats game, we got away without a couple of frees not being paid against us that I thought were obvious. We definitely got the rub of the green. Enjoy it while it lasts.........

Just for the record from 2010 to 2023 (14 years) we have only been positive on the free kick ledger 3 times - 2023, 2017 & 2012 ..... so 11 years in the negative

That post is just a little misleading, you can make stats look any way you want I guess.
We were positive in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 we broke even.
So we have been negative 10 times in 17 seasons.
It really seems to be the Ross Lyon factor, as soon as he steps into the coaches box we get a good go from the umpires.
Personally I think you have good and bad runs with the umps, and the more irrelevant you are as a club the less likely you are to get a good run.
As it stands so far in 2023, anyone who can’t see how well we are being looked after is potentially blind.

I just can't understand why a lopsided free kick count against us is "disgusting bias! Sets of two rules! Clear evidence they're CHEATS!!", yet a lopsided free kick count in our favour doesn't even rate a mention with the same people who are apparently so concerned with even and fair umpiring, "nothing to see here!"
Anyone have a possible explanation?
