Re: Zac butters
I would love to get him here but it would be crippling on our development.
You would think that Port would want at least two first round draft picks.
We are a young side and while a trade for this years first round draft pick would be fine more than that would be indicative of the club thinking we are nearly there.

Re: Zac butters
Would be absolutely gob smacked if there is even a smidgeon of truth to the rumour.
The only clue we have as to what our list management strategy was the Geoff Walsh claim when we had four pilllars and that we will be recruiting via the National draft as a core strategy.
If this was true it would indicate Ross doesn’t have his eye on a long term plan for sustainable list quality and more an ego driven plan to satisfy his “unfinished business” itch.

Re: Zac butters
haha does anyone actually believe this?
Ross has said we are going to the draft again this year. If we were looking at Butters then that would be impossible.

Re: Zac butters
About as likely as Dow or any other emerging AA will arrive...so who knows?
A strong drafting plus trading is required to grow into a Grand Final team.
We seemed to turn a corner with Clark & Coffield ( but...) then others recently but only NWM & Owen look like stars at the ready with a gaggle of lads coming along with loads of potential...
We desperately MUST have KPP at:
Ruck
Inside Mid
Defender
At a minimum to be Grand Final ready...
We might have these in development but not likely.
Hence the critical nature of drawing in young stars through trades. Not, aged stars...
