De Koning would look good in a Saints guernsey. Thought he really got them going in the second half

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
coach and captain lost us the game, coach lost us the game because he's a one trick pony and only knows how to put players behind the ball, why the bloody hell you do you put players behind the ball when you are showing some attacking confidence and are in front. He hasn't learnt, he's a one trick pony.
And to our Captain, it's time for a change, our lack of on field leadership has plagued us for years and when a team strong arms us we have none stand up and mostly it's our Captain that goes missing in the big games. All good and well to be a tackler and have a high tackle count but he lacks any creativity and ability to stand up when needed.
Crouch was absolutely killing it for 3 quarters and it's no coincidence we were looking good while he did but he was absolutely out on his feet in the fourth because once again he was carrying the team for 3 quarters, if only someone chipped in and shared the load the result might have been different.
and finally, Sharman way off the pace, as 1966 said, Caminiti needs more development, Sharman just no good and was embarrassing at times, has never put in a good game when it mattered which we can at least say for some of our other young ones.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
We were chasing Carlton arse after half time.
Not good enough in a crunch game against a depleted team who have miraculously turned it around in season.
It was all on the line today.
FAIL

Lyon should have subbed Caminiti instead of Pou. Caminiti needs a trip to Sandy while he learns his craft. Dunno what we do with that midfield- all flogged after half time.

It’s a B grade group at best. Crouch is a serious player but we don’t have much in the cupboard.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
Half way through the third Enright had his head in his hands. The box obviously saw something they didn’t like, like Carlton’s spread and metres gained. They just stopped working and the scum bags were working us over, clearly. The data on contested possessions, clearances and ground ball gets must have also been very ugly at that point which would have showed that we were getting killed on both the inside and outside. We also couldn’t score from their mistakes because our forward entries were shithouse. Also, probably not playing to instruction.
Same old same old.

Current form, I’d have us ahead of North and West Coast, equal with Hawks and Bombers, and behind everybody else. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 7:20pmJust the way I see it.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 7:10pmAll I can say is I think you’re very optimistic! The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 7:05pmon tonights effort we would have beatenThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 6:56pmWhich teams do you think we are currently better than?

Gresham should’ve been the one who was subbed off, at least Caminiti was actually trying

Ross Lyon talked up our chances all week and I also heard him interviewed on MMM prior to the start of play. For some reason he wanted to talk about the gambling odds or the fact that Carlton were seen as favouritesSaintPav wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 9:04pmToo kind, but about right.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 8:10pmCurrent form, I’d have us ahead of North and West Coast, equal with Hawks and Bombers, and behind everybody else.

He talked up our first quarter against Hawthorn and our ability to score heavily last week. He defended his team and our chances of winning and pointed out we sat in 5th position. He said "The ladder doesn't lie...right?"
He talked up the importance of getting off to a good start against Carlton. It's a shame that his words were about scoring but we all know his main thought and focus was on defending against the favourites
So... preparation and tactics to defend...spot on/very good. Ability to score and ability to find multiple avenues and different players to create scoring opportunities...below par/very poor after half time and not so good

While we are bashing coaching let’s check out our fearless leader stats:
5 disposals in a second half with zero touches in the last quarter
16 centre bounce attendances with one clearance
Gun.

Normally I would feel sympathy for a semi retarded, illiterate, half wit, moron, but one that continually spams the forum with the same idiotic delusional conspiracy theories and player denigration week after week, season after season, decade after decade would draw on the tolerance and empathy of any well meaning human being.CURLY wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 7:13pmD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Sun 06 Aug 2023 7:07pmHey Curly, do you just copy and paste your moronic, half wit, imbecilic posts game after game, week after week, year after year, decade after decade?

Give it a break Curly, you’re inability to see the obvious, lack of knowledge of the game and rules and persecution complex has clouded your view so much you have been reduced to a repetitive, simpering, whining pea brain whose lack of intellectual acuity is becoming increasingly concerning.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
I think you'll find that Brad Crouch also had 0 disposals in the 4th quarter
If both of your first selected mids have zero possessions in the last quarter ...
Maybe the coach has lost his players
Maybe he lost them after his presser in the Gold Coast game

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
Overall Blues were too strong physically. Their full back bog. Also they were full of confidence from their winning streak. Again our forwards imitating keystone cops, but the mids in the second half, my goodness, they must feel quite shamed.

Yes ….25 points up half time told me they don’t like the coach
Or beating an inform Hawks by 5 goals last week…tells me they’re anti Ross
Maybe you’ve just lost your marbles ?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 21 2023
Butler, Crouch, Steele and others with Zero possessions in the last quarter.
These are guys who usually run all day.
Higgins and Dan Butler with only 1 possession each in the third quarter.
Seems the game plan takes its toll on players. It's not sustainable. How are they expected to score if they're cooked midway into the third quarter?
