Re: is Clark too slow?
Greg Williams was just as slow.
Ask any Geelong supporter how much better their team was once he moved to Sydney.

Re: is Clark too slow?
Is he a great kick?
I’m not so sure??
Just because a player can kick on their non preferred doesn’t make them a great kick
Look, I rate Hunter - highly!
Not sure if the coach does, or whether he wants to stay
If he did he’d have put pen to paper!

Re: is Clark too slow?
He was pretty quick to get him back in the side once he'd recovered from his latest injury.

Re: is Clark too slow?
To be honest, I want him to stay. If he doesn't want to, I want him to f@ck off. I hope he realises a great pick or trade & then goes backwards as a footballer.

Re: is Clark too slow?
excusing hunters lack of speed by comparing him with williams is like saying who needs two feet - maradona only had a left.
hunter has potential, and has shown glimpses of bullet time, but needs to show a bit more enthusiasm for the ball.

Didn’t he get his nose out of joint when Ratts delivered a brutal assessment of his work rate?
If he still wants out, it’s hard to imagine that North would be at the top of his list?

Re: is Clark too slow?
LOL, was waiting for someone to write the Greg Williams line
1. Greg Williams retired 26 years ago, the game is a lot different in its requirements of athletes now.
2. Greg Williams was elite by hand and foot, on both sides and was incredibly tough and a great extractor from a contest.
Comparing Clark to an all time great is laughable, like comparing McCartin to Plugger because thy were both perceived to be overweight key forwards.
Clark has courage, good skills and is clever in heavy traffic.
He can be a good AFL player.
He is however running in quicksand and dos not have a high endurance level for an AFL player.
He is really suited as a half back but behind NWM and Sinclair in that rebounding role at St Kilda.
Maybe we do away with a lock down player like Webster or Stocker next year and play Sinclair, NWM, Clark & Hill alongside the talls as rebounders.

Sorry BM, I think your opinion and inside knowledge on Clark is changing with the weather!
There seems to be some confusion as to what you know, have heard and are speculating on.

Re: is Clark too slow?
By the way how fast is Hunter, and what is too slow. Or is this a bit of gratuitous subjective guess work/character assassination. Jones is fast, but so what, he's largely ineffective. Hunter is quite effective, good hands/clever/brave, its not the Olympics 100m he is contesting.
How do we rate Pendlebury, tortoise or hare. Good or flog him to North poor. You'd be laughed out of Victoria Park to suggest it, wind whistling through all those gums.

Re: is Clark too slow?
Clark is not just slow- his loping stride length also impacts his kicking depth, and while he looks as if he should be a good kick many drop short and are intercepted. He has most of the skill set we love to see- and I hope he stays but works on improving his running style if that is possible?

Re: is Clark too slow?
I just believe our 22 is better with Clark in it, than a speculative 2nd or 3rd rounder. I also believe our 22 will be better with a fit, confident Nick Coffield. I hope they both remain at St Kilda.

I’m pretty sure Hunter stated he wants to stay.

Re: is Clark too slow?
It seems the Hunter Clark bashing never ends.
The guy has had a terrible run with injuries, some horrific, and none to do with his overall fitness. They have all been contact injuries. However, all injuries interrupt a player's ability to get to peak fitness and remain there.
Injuries affect players both physically and mentally. We saw what they did to Jack Steele earlier this year
So...... how about we just let this stuff go for now. It's getting pretty tedious.
It's time to stop sh#tting on players at our football club, particularly those who've had to endure some real adversity.

Re: is Clark too slow?
Exactly. Too many confusing keyboard skills with football nous. And I don't think you have any worries about any of them taking over training drills at Moorabbin.

Re: is Clark too slow?
20 touches and 10 tackles tonight, much better than a majority of his teammates, no way we should let him go.

Re: is Clark too slow?
20 touches - not enough for a mid
Our mids were smacked so tonight wasn’t good for your argument
Hunter is a good player
Thing is - he wants out!

He only wants out because I assume he has been made to feel not welcome!

How do you know?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: is Clark too slow?
This, "he wants out" stuff B.M, is this in your head because he's not signed or because the Club has not offered a contract, that he likes? Or, regardless of contract, he's out?
This is your narrative, so please be specific or just say it's your dart you've thrown at the end of year trade board.
Gresham is playing like someone who is out the door. A player the club will be better without, in my opinion.

Re: is Clark too slow?
Has he re-signed?
He’s out of contract
If the club wants him they’d offer him an appropriate contract
If he wants to stay he’d sign that contract
Not sure either is the case?!
They say, if a player hasn’t signed by the bye, likelihood is they are gone - it’s R20
