explain this ......

Post: # 2022396Post 6621104 »

Dan Butler, playing as a small forward reportedly had over 300 metres gained; Jack Billings only 57. Similar time on ground.

2 players had Zero disposals for us in the 3rd Quarter.

One was Zak Jones (obviously!!) and the other was Billings

He got involved in the last quarter with 4 touches.

Replaceable

Played forward - ball didn’t spend much time in our mids hands forward of the centre

Playing forward isn’t easy - when you’re mids a getting slaughtered at clearance

Newcomb, Day and Worpal dominated q3

Much rather the ball in Billings hands than almost any other player.

Jack Billing.15 touches. 6 kicks and 9 handballs at 80% DE. 3 score involvements

Ronnie Byrnes. 16 touches. 10 kicks and 6 handballs at 87%. 9 score involvements

Ronnie was awesome in the first quarter and one of our best in the last quarter as well. Ronnie's running at high speed was off the charts (it's measured by the Telstra tracker). Better than Mason Wood

No doubt but still a far better footballer than Byrnes.

Byrnes has gone past Billings. The stats this year are NOT a one off.

Byrnes is a better contributor at present…. But I understand if people think Billings is better ( Jack’s AFL Fantasy price is in fact higher than Ronnie’s  )

You reckon they’ve had equal preparation?

Billings was given ample time at Sandringham to work on his fitness. Stop making excuses for him

Billings has been on the decline the last two years.

At present...the evidence says Byrnes has gone past him

I’m equally as serious about my statement as you are about your opinion regarding Byrnes

Here’s your statement on Billings in 2020. How did that prediction pan out for the next 3 years?

Billings appears to be too slow for a guy of his size. He was recruited for his kicking skills but doesn't get enough possessions in good spots to impact the game regularly.

Both were v. .good. Jack carried his broken thumb into some brave tackles. Made a nice fashion statement with the glove. Byrnesy took overhead marks- can you imagine!

Billings is still recovering from a broken thumb. He's a better footballer than Byrnes.
