“Should Win” this Weekend
We “should win” this weekend against the Kangas with the amount of injuries they have.
Coleman-Jones out with concussion.
Jy Simpkin out with injury.
Zurhaar out with injury.
Wardlaw out with injury.
We are expecting to get back Higgins and there’s questions marks on Jack Billings if he’s good to go with his thumb and Jack Hayes with his match fitness. If we don’t respond after last week then we can kiss our finals chances good bye.
I know the players and the club have said on record that they aren’t looking at finals appearance but in IMHO if we don’t play finals (I don’t even care if we get booted out first round) than this year has been all for nothing. Finals experience would be good to inject into our young players like NWM, Windy, Owens, Pou and Caminiti to give them a taste for what’s to come. It will give market to players we want to trade out like Gresham. We have to make it in.

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
We’ve looked terrible each game we’ve played again West Coast, Hawthorn and North. Lucky not to have lost all 3. We are a bottom 4 team on current form.

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
Opposition players out injured is irrelevant.
If our team doesn’t play with the right attitude and effort, we are a good chance of losing.
Hopefully that doesn’t happen but there are no guarantees.

I recon the North players will find something extra to stick it up us as a show of support for Ratts.

Paraphrasing the great one, If that worked, clubs would be picking up sacked coaches every year and we’d all pack up and go home.

Really lucky not to lose that North game. They got within 20 points at one stage in the last quarter.

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
Every week it’s something, isn’t it.
Suns, coming off a coach sacking.
Eagles, coming off a record shellacking.
Tigers, Cotchin 350 games.
Etc, etc.
If I didn’t know it already to be true, I’d swear our club is cursed,
Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
There is a curse on this club Big Carl... I think it's me ?
When we're playing, if I walk out of the room we kick a goal. My kids always tell me to go away and stop watching. I spent the last minute of the Bullgogs preliminary final outside, I only knew we won after hearing cheers inside.
Every time I've travelled to Melbourne to watch them they lose, my Crows mate took me over for my 50th because we were hot favourites to beat Crows and he just wanted Saints to win for me. We lost.
I've seen one win in Adelaide ... at Footy Park decades ago.
I said to my mate, 50 years of watching this club makes you go crazy .......
It should be relaxing and fun ... shouldn't it ?

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
If you put a $20 on a multi as:
-norf win
- pick a couple of Norf guys to get one goal
- a couple of Norf guys to gather 15+ touches
It would pay well

Poor old Ratts looks like he has been getting pulled up at a few RBT's.
A good quality shampoo and shave daily would do wonders for him.

Players had a warts and all meeting before training this morning. No coaches, no staff. Will be interesting how they respond on Sunday

Fair crack, that's not on is it, he was a decent coach in a difficult time and did his darndest for the club. Respect?Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jul 2023 3:37pmPoor old Ratts looks like he has been getting pulled up at a few RBT's.

We nearly destroyed him, if we didn't actually, by breaking our word. Brett put heart and soul into the job. So far his replacement has not justified the way he was treated.
Ross on the other hand, our David Beckham? grooming personified? .......not modelling recently for Influential Coaches of the Decade, or for Playboys (please play boys!), maybe Hustlers?

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
So?
They had a bloody meeting last yr after the bye after 99% of the players refused to perform against the Bombers.
It's a permanent St Kilda feature.
Play well early season, throw some games away, behave lazily and selfishly...
Have a 'brutal meeting'
NOTHING CHANGES.
Joke of a club

Mate I’m just giving you what happened. I wasn’t the covenor. They might have been talking about parking restrictions. But they had a meeting that was players only. Jeeeez.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jul 2023 7:47pmSo?

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
In my experience, some forumites only real contribution here is only to have a crack at other forumites. When called upon to justify their own opinions, they can’t and on the rare instances where they post their own opinions… well let’s just say it’s laughable.tony74 wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jul 2023 8:06pmMate I’m just giving you what happened. Should you come across such forumites… well let’s just say ignoring or foe’ing will increase your enjoyment of this forum exponentially. Some things are just not worth bothering with.

Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
The only thing in our favour is that North and WC are in a battle for pick 1. That means that their selectors, if they have any brains, will be selecting teams "for the future" aka " the least likely to win". That doesn't stop the players selected trying as hard as they can to win, just like our players. But, I still wouldn't bet on the Saints to win.
Re: “Should Win” this Weekend
We all just speculate about whats happening inside the 4 walls of the footy club.tony 74 comes on here and gives us an insight into what is going on down there and cops smart arse comments like the one above ,go figure!WellardSaint wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jul 2023 7:47pmSo?
