Why are we having to work on skills at the elite level?

We draft and list the best talent in the country- and they have poor skills?

I don’t buy that

You teach Game Plan to players that have skill at that level

How do 'elite' players handball behind a guy or at his bootlaces.
That's more than skill error, that's 'I'm either lazy or lack confidence'

The bottom line, and it irks me to say it, but we are just not that good. We are a very average football team. But I do believe the coaches including the development coaches are on the right track

RTB had the whole pre-season to get their skills sorted.
I think you said he stepped away and let Lenny, Harves, Boris- conduct most of the training.

Is his 'pre-season' comment an admission that it wasn't done right?
How do skills fall in a hole this far into a season.
Our guys kicking straight to an oppo player.
Our guys handballing behind a team-mate. Zak had to stop and turn around, other guys had to stop and got caught or lost the ball entirely.
In junior footy, C Grade Ammos, we had to drop and do 10 pushups if we pulled that stuff at training.
YOU HANDBALL SO A GUY CAN RUN ONTO IT WITHOUT BREAKING STRIDE.
And handballing at a guy's bootlaces.

Trade and draft period can't come quick enough.
We are going nowhere fast with this list ,history has proven that no matter who the coaching group is.

There's quite a few regulars that played durung Covid, who demonstrated skills, smarts, and ability.
Butler and several others.
During our win vs Cats last yr, and in our early season wins this year, there was the 'team-first' on show, as well as 'taking the game on' and 'finding a target in space'.

CURRENTLY THERE IS A VIRUS in the club affecting just about everyone.
Where they challenge each other to stuff up and play without brains.
They play like a bunch of office workers in a weekend fun footy match. No cohesion, the only common theme is sh1tf*ckery.

If the coaching brains can't correct this, we could bring in Petracca, the Bont, Bailey Smith, Nick Daicos- and it will still be the same bloody stink.
