Is it me
Or Is every time they have bowled there’s been overheads and the ball has gone around corners
When we bowl it’s been bright and sunny
They have clearly had the best conditions
And keep winning tosses

Re: Ashes comments
If we lose this Test and it's likely. The only reason for playing Warner in the 4th Test would be in the hope of tying the series.
You know even his supporters are getting desperate when their reason for retaining him is his slips catching.
Was it Mark Taylor's logic when he said, if we win at Headingly he'd drop him but if we lose he'd keep him in to help retain the Ashes? I'd love someone to explain that logic to me.

what st jhonno would ask his daughter is if red is so bad why do so many actresses fake red?
from the great rita hayworth, to the likes of emma stone, julia roberts, amy, alyson hannigan,

red's the new black.

Re: Ashes comments
We’re 100 runs short IMO (you can find 50 of them at the end of Englands first innings).
In previous years 250 would be a very difficult chase, but not in 2023 on this ground. I’d expect the Poms to chase it down fairly easily before tea, unless they absolutely poo the bed, fingers crossed…

Stokes? He's not even a pom. He's a f****** Kiwi.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 08 Jul 2023 6:41pmI cant’t see England winning a single test TBHThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 08 Jul 2023 5:39pmLove the optimism, I’m always more pessimistic myself!shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 08 Jul 2023 10:24am Actually, if Australia win (and I think Australia will win), it will be Todd Murphy's wicket that could be remembered. He is the junior burger thrown into the fire. Getting clobbered by the Tiger tank, until he got Stokes to mistime and sky that shot.
How many do you see Australia setting the Poms?
Too frail.
The Bazball thing is a croc against quality opposition IMO
Although I love the spirit of it
I do think their pace bowling is good…and I rate Ollie Floginson too. I think he’s a very good bowler even tho his speeds are what they are. As good as Hazelwood/Boland nowadays.
Woakes is decent too. The others are champs
Spin attack is mediocre
Batsman are frail - very frail. Fielding - catching is poor ..keeping us sub-standard..
Stokes is a wildcard - he’s exciting and I love to watch…but not reliable
Then they are wounded and injured or under done or part roasted
Stokes Robinson Anderson even Moen Ali,
I can see the winning sessions perhaps even days at best

Prediction
If England are lucky...
Late start due to rain..
7/143 match at 8PM

If England are predictable...

All out 143
Boland gets a 7-for
Can you really see England not having a collapse?

it's only 250 runs
it's only their general manhood and sense of worth we've called into question by picking on them

we wouldn't think they deserved having beers with us

Yep, he's in rich form, on top of that wonderful 40 in the WTC. That should secure his spot until Candice tells him it's time to come in and play with the kids.

Re: Ashes comments
I love the optimism of the Poms being bowled out under 200, i wish I had that!
My gut says they’ll romp it in 3 down an hour before tea! :S
I know a collapse is very possible, but I just can’t see it happening tonight, I think they’re too motivated for this one, and then theres Stokes…
I think there is a lot of pressure on Boland, has looked quite average so far in the Ashes, needs a big one to keep his spot over Hazelwood IMO

Labuschagne has been more disappointing for me, 5 starts so far and not one score over 50.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 09 Jul 2023 9:35am If we lose this Test and it's likely. The only reason for playing Warner in the 4th Test would be in the hope of tying the series.

Was it Mark Taylor's logic when he said, if we win at Headingly he'd drop him but if we lose he'd keep him in to help retain the Ashes? I'd love someone to explain that logic to me.

if we lose
now he's talk'n ... Team
'n what works in the bigger picture for Team

I agree, Labuschagne has been disappointing and I expected more from him than I did Warner for this Tour. I am not sure Labuschagne has been consistently as disappointing as Warner has for the past two years.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 09 Jul 2023 6:13pmLabuschagne has been more disappointing for me, 5 starts so far and not one score over 50.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 09 Jul 2023 9:35am If we lose this Test and it's likely. We seem to have a broken clock theory with some of our cricketers and more than happy to scrap heap others. Warner, for mine, is a broken clock.
Re: Ashes comments
Labuschagne averages under 40 against the Poms with just the one century - 103
He needs to improve that average to closer to his overall Test average
I am one who ranks by performance against the Poms
Boots can be filled against some others
Warner also averages under 40 against the Poms
Interestingly Marsh averages 50 versus an average of 27 overall - so excels against them
Now over to the bowlers
The Poms have to make more than they did in their first innings
We fell short of our first innings total in our second innings
Will the Poms do likewise?
We hope so
