Which defender do we allow to dominate

Post: # 2018840Post B.M »

This week it’s Steven May

Defenders must love playing against us

The coaches votes in every loss - goes to a defender

We just allow a loose to dominate

Steven May is playing on NO one!

Why would you play on anyone?

Our best two forwards are out. We have a 19 year old as our biggest key forward.

A defender dominating against us often proves it's not just our midfield that's below par.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Still got to make a contest forward of the ball and keep a structure

Under heat the ball has to be bombed in - key forward CANNOT get out marked!

Steven May controlled the entire game

Our forwards or coaches did NOTHING about it!

And it’s a pattern - not just tonight because King was out!

Our system going forward is horrendous- our structure in front of the ball poor - then the decision making going forward shocking
Then execution is no good as a result

We win the ball

Sit 18th for effectiveness going forward into i50

Harves is our Fwds coach.

Did we all expect our Fwds to magically become 100% better just because a favourite son had returned?

We may be better off going the chaos ball into our 50

Just kick in a hard bouncing grubber that can go anywhere and get the defenders panicking

Why

When we can kick it straight to AA defenders and allow them to take 10 intercept marks?!

My Good friend, how come forwards are nowhere near intercept catcher when he marks it, often ?

To be fair, it's not our forwards kicking straight to defenders.

I'd really love to get in on a press conference to ask this question .
I'm far ken sick of it
Every far kin week we are lucky to kick 10 goals because of the same bulls*** enteries .
RtB and the other coaches talk the same shite every week and nothing changes .
That's on them and it's got to change .
I've watched the Saints since the 70s , So I'm use to us losing .
I'd enjoy the footy so much more if we were kicking 15 goals and getting done .
I used to say Soccer was boring cos they hardly score .
How Far ken Boring Are the RtB Saints .
This is why Far call fans turn up each week .
Although I thought the crowd wasn't to bad at the fridge tonight !
end of rant

Caminiti is 196cm and 83kg, Sharman 193 and 83, Owens 191 and 85 and Phillipou 190 and 89

What weight is May?

Even King at 202 is only 97

We just do not have 100kg forwards who can hold ground and contest the ball drop zone

Even in defence we have Battle at 193 and 92, Wilkie at 191 and 88 - and then Howard at 199 and 97

Melbourne collapsed back to deny space and force us to kick to contests knowing we did not have the weight to push and shove to advantage and to protect the ball drop zone - and when looking for space we found their players who had collapsed back as fillers just far too frequently

On the night the loss of King and Cordy was costly

I thought Jones was competitive and influential when on the ground and hopefully the runs will improve him and Billings

We had several players who contested well starting with Marshall who was exceptional

It was one of those nights where the Stats sheet did not lie

The possession numbers were consistent with impact

Tomorrow to see how Clark pulls up plus any other performances

Plus we wait on Battle and Higgins

GWS is a must win game now

Plus Hill

And we play GCS next week

Well said. I'm sure you mean GCS but I agree.

Yes, Gold Coast up there

And the run and precision of Hill will be vital to our effort

So (hopefully) Clark, Battle, Higgins and Hill back in to replace the 3 injured plus one other

Last in first out is Byrnes but his run and endurance may be vital in the conditions up North

And a change in structure because Battle replaces Cordy but we lose height in King (for the season)

The bit I saw of the VFL no one was knocking the door down under the eye of Lyon except Clark

Some honest, some promising for the rest
