Wouldn't it be so St Kilda to trade Michito for 3 draft picks.
Keep Lethean away from list management.
Only discuss our list when he's away from the club
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Hear hear. We have been bitten on the arse too many times in the past for doing exactly that.

Good signings
Time right to critically assess our list and make sone hard calls
You get nowhere/tread water unless you give to get
Moving on a Billing’s for a 3rd rounder ain’t gonna get you there..
Think we’ll need to move on a bigger name to shift the dial or risk being in 6-12 land for another 10 years
Just got to make sure the get is an upgrade
The clubs still 2-3 off a serious challenge for mine
Build the side with that in mind

Re: Sinclair, Higgins and Wilkie - contracts extended until 2027
Just had that conversation with a Hawthorn mate. He suspects both clubs could be in position to have a tilt in 2027, St Kilda a bit earlier. It all very much depends on securing draft picks (& nailing them) before Tassie comes in. He believes secure your 25 and under talent and assess your over 25s. If a Club offers a deal for any player, it would be folly not to consider it, does not mean you have to take it.Teflon wrote: ↑Fri 07 Jul 2023 12:38pm Good signings

Re: Sinclair, Higgins and Wilkie - contracts extended until 2027
Toce has shown he is elite at his job.
His most recent picks in the National draft (especially Pou, NWM, Windy and Owens) have already impacted on the side and are a huge part of the core group to take us forward.
What we need to do is give Toce and his team an opportunity to find some more gems, however there's no rush.
In many ways, there are variables out of the control of recruiters and there are no guarantees. Player injury can also derail the best intentions of the club and could delay our eventual rise to become a top 4 team.
The club needs to remain as the ultimate beneficiary. Not Jack Steele and Brad Hill and Brad Crouch and Seb Ross. Nor Jack Sinclair or Cal Wilkie or Jack Higgins. There shouldn't be a timeline or an expiry date.
I hope we don't rush things and try and cheat our way up the ladder with a short term sugar fix (similar to the 2019 trades) based on Ross Lyons contract expiry
Let's ensure all decisions are in the best long term interests of the club and that decisions aren't based on our older players as they approach retirement.

Owens is signed until the end of 2025. Probably need to add another 5 years to that.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
