What the hell is going on?

On a dead day 5 pitch - with a guy set up for the pull shot - we are bowling half trackers?!

Bowl short and full to broad

Pitch up to stokes

Trundles in half trackers
Stokes was stepping to leg as he ran in
This guys dumb or what ?
He’d get a go in St Kilda Benny hill forward line at this rate
Put it in the block hole ffs
Get Starc on
And what about ole mouthy Broad? Is he a bit touched in the head or what

Australia have lost the plot

Dumb cricket

Another example of how dumb elite sports people and coaches can be

We hold them on pedestals because we think they are great - at the end of the day - most of them are dumb jocks who are good at sport

The over of Cameron Green was the dumbest cricket I’ve seen in any level of cricket!
If he’s going to hit sixes, make him hit good balls for 6
Not hit Long Hops for six

Starc didn’t even know the rules and thought he’d caught a grounded catch!

Always thought he was an overrated bowler too, granted he does well in ideal English conditions, but anything outside of that he’s quite average.
Overrated?

186 test matches
696 wickets at 26

The hair dye isn’t hiding his age, and he looks cooked but overrated is something that cannot be directed toward Anderson.

Yes he is better at home where he averages 24 than away, but nearly 300 wickets away at 29 is hardly the performance of a bowler who is quite average away from home.

Most of the greats were better on home conditions than abroad, or in conditions that suited their style.
McGrath averaged 22 at home and 20 away.
Steyn 21 home 24 away.
Walsh 23 home 25 away
Hadlee 22 home 21 away
Pollock 21 home 25 away
Akram 22 home 24 away
Ambrose 21 home 20 away
Lillee 23 home 24 away

The greats get it done anywhere, not just in favourable conditions. Like Broad, he is a big step below the above listed. 29 is an average average for a bowler, and 34 in Australia is quite poor.

I think you’ll find with two behind square, deep square and 5 in total on the leg side Green is merely following his captain’s instructions.

I agree it is ridiculous, but I doubt the decision lies with the bowler in this instance.

I get it’s a negating tactic at times, but when Stoles is going that’s serving him easy runs.

Anyway, that’s enough cricket for me tonight, can’t bare watching the Poms and Stokes pull off another miraculous run chase, time to switch to the F1!

Stokes hit 22 off one over so, with 126 to win, six overs after lunch will do it. A new ball is not due for 23 overs, so that won't happen. Unless Starc and Hazelwood work some magic after lunch, England will win. Losing the best off spin bowler early in the match, pretty much sealed our fate as far as relying on the bowlers to win the match. We needed another 100 runs from the batsmen.

Did Stokes order what balls he wants because Australia is obliging.

Absolutely pathetic. And I thought the Saints was the most embarrassing performance I would see today! The short ball was literally unplayable for all the Aussie batsmen, and now it looks like Stokes can’t help but hit 4 and 6s?!?

Unbelievable.

Only 2 of their bats have made more than 18 in this Innings

The 2 who made more than 18 have put pressure on the history this side will leave behind them

And 3 Tests to go

Fantastic Test and result. Played very hard by both sides. Stokes’ innings was magnificent. Just great Ashes cricket.
