Votes v WCE
That was not the relaxing afternoon/early evening I was expecting.
Noone for the 5 votes.
4. Rowan Marshall. I’m a bit torn on this. At times he was well-beaten by his opponent, but I thought he fought hard all day and his overall effort was strong. Stood up well late.
3. Mich Owens. Love him.
3. Brad Crouch. In and under all day.
2. Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera . Is getting better and better.
2. Jack Sinclair . Seemed way off his game early, but lifted when required.
1. Dougal Howard . Shaded a very good opponent. Has his moments, but I thought was one of our best today.
I also thought Wood, Windhager and Gresham ( late) were ok, and credit to Caminiti who was awful early but fought back.

Re: Votes v WCE
Not Sincs. He made too many errors and had only 12 touches to half time.
Michito gets my vote, nobody else.
Maybe Hill 2nd, esp that spoil on the wing. Amazing second effort

Re: Votes v WCE
5. Marshall. Four quarter effort was one of his best games.
4. Crouch. I wish he would get more kicks, hand ball is his first instinct. But, 17 tackles was some effort.
3. Wood. Just so-so early, very good second half.
2. Howard. When Battle went down I feared he would be overwhelmed. Remained cool and became the intercept king.
1. Owens. This kid is something special and a big bag of goals is not far off.

5 Marshall
3 Owens
3 Sincs
2 Wood
1 Hill
1 Howard
Wood, Hill, Sinclair, Butler, NWM (becoming a jet), Gresham, Steele and especially Sinclair had a huge impact and were influential in us winning the game. We had to fight hard.
Marshall and Owens and our backline stood up. Webster and Wilkie solid as ever. They know how to defend. Dougall was much better. Even Cooper Sharman was good and had an impact to the game result.

Re: Votes v WCE
Crouch again was prolific with touches but I thought most were insignificant. He had 18 possessions up until half time. At that point in the game we were 4 goals down. He was NOT the reason we got back into the game.
People somehow feel compelled to give him votes because he appears on top of the list with disposal count. He had zero centre clearances. He gets stoppage clearances with some 1m handballs that usually result in a secondary stoppage.
He was ok, and did a power of work and running and laid the most tackles (as Trev pointed out) but half his tackles are just insignificant with two other Saints players already at the scene and tackling the same player. I don’t think he deserves to be named in the best on ground…especially with people thinking he was more influential than Wood, Hill, Sinclair, Owens, or Marshall.

Re: Votes v WCE
5 Hill (critical 1%ers that kept us in the game plus several elite pin point passes)
4 Crouch (pressure acts/tackles)
3 Owens (nailed what needed to through big sticks)
2 Wood (getting back to the Wood we knew early rounds)
1 Marshall (good to see clunking defensive intercepts)

Re: Votes v WCE
As. i said;

We were losing the game by a fair margin at half time. Crouch got 8 possessions in the second half!!
We needed players to perform and we needed centre clearances and to be clean going inside 50. How many pressure acts and tackles in the third and fourth quarters did Brad Crouch lay that helped St Kilda win the match? If someone answers that question I’ll stfu
When you are losing the game by 4 goals, you attack. You need players with flare and you need to move the ball quickly. You need guys that can run like Wood, Sinclair, Hill and Windy and Butts. Sharman, Steele, King, Byrnes and NWM had good metres gained and provided marking targets.
Marshall was awesome in the centre. He and Steele had 3 centre clearances each. Jack Steele had 6 x inside 50’s, Nasiah had 4 x inside 50’s. Mason Wood had 3 x inside 50’s and also snagged a goal at a critical time just before 3 quarter time.
If you value goals and pinpoint passes more than you do touches then you reward Owens, Butler, NWM, Hill, Howard, Sinclair, Webster and Wilkie. Max King’s kick to Windhager probably deserves a vote. He centred the footy hitting Windy on the chest, which led to a goal to Buttsy.
If we are rewarding effort, then Jack Higgins deserves to be in the votes for his 1 goal and 4 behinds

Re: Votes v WCE
maybe just put your votes in and stop trying to convince everyone how much smarter than them you are. an empty vessel and all that.
