Totally reactive in the first half. Midfield performance apart from Crouch was abysmal. Lifted after half time and could have won by more with better forward entries. Dougal Howard need to get rid of those stupid brain fades out of his game. We were dominating in the third before his brain fade and then they kicked three in a row.

in rnd 17 1979 fitzroy defeated melbourne by a record margin of 190 points.
the next week against fifth placed essendon the embarrased demons came out as determined as west coast did today.
unfortunately for west coast they met a team of sterner stuff than the bombers, who had a 135 kicked on them to go down by 29 points.

this saints win wasn't against the same team that got hammered last week, this was a game against a team desperate to regain some pride. like the dees back then they'll likely fall away again, but this week we saw the best effort they given all season. i'll bank that win and move on.
