Re: West Coast with new coach next week??
We were decent up until the Port Adelaide game.
Since then we've beaten North only because they are worse than us.
Were smashed by Adelaide.
Just got over a struggling GWS.
Lost a game to the 3rd worst team in the comp after leading by 20 points late in the game and conceding the last five goals in-a-row.
Beat Sydney...and that one was a good win.
Lost to Richmond, who are genuinely struggling.
Were beaten all over the ground by Brisbane in a town they struggle in and were lucky to only lose by 28 points.
We've had two months of being average and one month where we played well.
If you were a gambler, what do you think the line should be for us? What start do we give the Eagles?

Sydney - away 1st time since 09
Richmond - away, Captains 300th and Tigers hitting form previous weeks
Brisbane - top 4 side and will be again
It’s up n down but we’re still playing kids - check forward line on weekend
No midfield
Experience like Membrey DMac Jones Clark Billing’s Hayes all injured?????

Re: West Coast with new coach next week??
Our woes are not good. We see the same issues week after week. King is the only genuine option up forward. Caminiti's opponent week after week does what he likes. He can't be retained in the team. Either play Cordy or bring Campbell in and play Marshall forward. Going into the game with no structure change week after week is madness. It was no coincidence that we took complete control in the Sydney game when the sub was made.Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 5:46pm We aren’t at our best no question but you’re making the woes seem far worse and dismissing the wins

The early wins were good. No doubt. Fremantle, Bulldogs, an in-form Essendon...All great wins. We played with a dare that went missing after the Port loss.
No midfield???
Only Jones is missing from the regulars, and, according to this forum, he is no good anyway (not a view I share).
The talent in the middle isn't the issue. It's the desire that's lacking.
BTW, you can't use the word experience and include Hayes in that list. Yes, he's 27 but has played five games of AFL football.

So much of football is above the shoulders, when a club changes coaches mid stream they often play above themselves. All I know is Nick had a great rapport with the players. You don’t lose fitness overnight and Alex seems a great get…..but I repeat he was very popular with the boys and again I repeat so much of our performances are above the shoulders. The timing of the way we’ve been playing before and after is interesting to say the least.Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 5:50pmWhat does that mean Tony?Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 5:48pmHe was replaced, wasn't he? Yea Caminiti has been monstered on occasion but if he’s the future I’d rather he play than drop him to give Campbell games
This side ain’t a serious finals side anyway so why pretend??
I’ll give you Hayes if you give me midfield ..
Do you really think this midfield we have at moment is top notch?
Only Crouch has played with a level of consistency
Oh and GWS and Sydney wins were very good

Re: West Coast with new coach next week??
It’s understandable that players reacted to the change of fitness coach, it’s human nature. Clubs are such tight knit environments and strong bonds form. Whilst sorry to see Nick go I’m glad that if , those who know a bit about fitness, deemed that we needed to be even better in this area, chose to make the change mid season with the future in mind.Life Long Saint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 10:47pmThat's a damning indictment on our players if true.tony74 wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 9:47pmSo much of football is above the shoulders, when a club changes coaches mid stream they often play above themselves. Clubs should always be aiming for finals no matter what their situation. Every season you don't make the final 8, is another season you blow a chance of a possible premiership.Teflon wrote: ↑Mon 26 Jun 2023 1:34amPlaying Campbell and Cordy gets us nowhereLife Long Saint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jun 2023 5:57pmOur woes are not good. I heard somewhere WC had 15 of their 2018 premiership team playing at the moment with some more to return.
Let's not underestimate how they might turn things around with the spotlight on their current form.

Re: West Coast with new coach next week??
Ok I get it...develop the youngsters...but not if your surname is Bytel
Some of our younger guys with similar attributes were languishing in the magoos while questions were asked of Seb Ross and Crouch and even the effectiveness of Jack Steele playing under an injury cloud.
Also: Exploration does not include Crouch getting dropped.
I've noticed the coach has played Crouch off a wing and at half forward in recent weeks but he remains in the team...odd! I thought he was an inside mid.
RTB wants a team capable of running and spreading and mids who can get back in numbers to help our defenders. Winning the ball with efficiency at the coalface has become secondary. Efficient inside 50's and effective disposals are secondary to effort.
Crouch remained in the team despite the form slump he had which started in Round 6 against Carlton. This was around the same time that both Windy and Bytel were ripping it up at Sandringham while Crouch was struggling for 3-4 games. It was in April and May.
Match committee have played Crouch for 14 games in a row because they need to see how he's developing... possibly ??
There's no way of knowing if Bytel could be more effective at stoppages than Crouch and especially at centre clearances and no way of finding out if he's going to help the senior team make finals because match committee have decided they want Crouch in the team for 22 games

New CEO first. Then coach, who is likely to be a West Australian. Is Worsfold still in the industry? Hopefully they still have one more shocker in them.
