Gresham
I'm not sure why this bloke doesn't cop more criticism on here.
Seems to me to have all the tools but may suffer from an attitude problem.
Turns the ball over regularly.
Goes missing.
Selfish with and without the ball.
Doesn't chase.
Today he attended 12 centre bounces and finished the fame with 1 clearance, 1 score involvement, 3 tackles and 11 touches. (4 turn overs)
Billings can have a 28 possession games with a goal and 6 tackles and people here want his head. Give me Billings over Gresham any day of the week and twice in a close game.

Re: Gresham
Snapped a good goal and should have been groomed all along as a Milne-like forward pocket.
Either through personal ambition or club overestimation he's been played as a midfielder with dubious results.
I was hoping RTB would turn him into a premier crumber.

He should leave.

Honestly I can't remember when he last played well. He can't kick for s***.

Re: Gresham
Has been a huge disappointment this season and looks far from happy
Reckon he doesn't want to leave but we have offered him a contract well short of his expectations and its been playing on his mind

Re: Gresham
This week was no different to almost every other week from him.
Does just enough to guarantee himself a game the next week, usually has that 1 moment of pure class to remind everyone of what he's capable of and then spends the rest of the time like a GoP. If he's at the club again next year it will be because no other team is willing to pay his asking price and for some reason I can't fathom, we are.
Put enough reliable a-graders around him and he becomes that game-changer spark every team wants, but we don't have that.

He overestimates his own capabilities too. I suppose most hungry smalls do but he is really wasteful sometimesWaltzing St Kilda wrote: ↑Sat 24 Jun 2023 1:28am Snapped a good goal and should have been groomed all along as a Milne-like forward pocket.

I actually like him in the middle but he fades. Maybe doesn't have endurance needed to play the role for 4 quarters
The other thing that annoys me is how selfish he gets when he's anywhere within 50 metres. I think he developed some bad habits under Cho and was allowed to get away with it too often. Has never been dropped for this behaviour. Neither have some of his team mates

Re: Gresham
Will be no great loss, zero effort most weeks and his disposal is ordinary.
Just hopefully someone overates him like our club has and is willing to hand over a decent pick.

Need to keep playing so we can take picks 9 and 10 into the draft or use 10 for a trade.

There is no way on gods green earth that we will get a first round pick for him. He'd have to be paid in excess of 800K for that.SaintDippa wrote: ↑Sat 24 Jun 2023 9:08am Need to keep playing so we can take picks 9 and 10 into the draft or use 10 for a trade.

Re: Gresham
More Y than X factor. Y is he getting a game. Y does he kick like a 10 year old. Y is his contract so big. Y doesn't he chase.
We can forget the X factor. Butler has more X factor and Butler only has two tricks, chasing and tackling but at least he brings those every week, unconditionally.
Gresham needs a fresh start, he's better than his 2023 output. It can be a win for him and the club. I think he's already checked out, he's playing like he has. Let Carlton or Essendon pay overs.
Our X factors are NWM, Owens and Phillipou. Butler and Higgins are well ahead of Gresham at the moment. We also have two unknowns in Peris and Hotton.
I think Gresham will play a blinder in the coming weeks but he needs to for his contract value. We need players who will play a blinder for the jumper and his team mates.

Re: Gresham
Really disappointing ..again!
I just wish he would start just doing some simple things well, and stop trying to do the incredible things every time

Re: Gresham
He is gone
If you haven’t signed by the bye round - you’re out
Maybe mentally checked out too
Not sure how he was a better player at 20 than he is at 25
We will get zero for him

Won't be unhappy to see him home. Still kicks like a 12yr old.

Re: Gresham
Hard to know what's going on with Gresham, current form certainly not up to scatch, I would have thought that if his manager is testing the market he would be playing much better to increase his value. Maybe he has already committed to go elsewhere in 2024 and he's just marking time, avoiding injury which would jeopardise a move.

Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."

Had always reminded me of one of those punchem rollypolly clowns
The kind you hit and they keep bouncing back up
Too small for the middle keeps getting knocked down
