I appreciate that there are quite a few posters who have been advocating for Sinclair to play exclusively in the middle. Well, watching their dream come true tonight, what grabs my attention is a massive gap in the backline, which greatly reduces our ability to move the ball quickly out of defence. Brisbane have locked us down inside our back half, and at times we look incapable of escaping.

At the risk of sounding megalomaniacal…. I can’t stand it when something that seems blatantly obvious to me as arm chair critic primarily because we’ve repeatedly seen it is persevered with, comes to fruition.

The three selections I disliked in the team thread…
- Paton has been really mediocre in the seniors and got a call back too quickly - errors, poor over head, has been costly

- Byrnes: bad decision making, atrocious disposal doing costly turn overs and not getting enough contested footy to justify it

- Caminati hasn’t been the same since returning from suspension. Hasn’t been near it yet and seems to have lost his aggression and attack on the ball
