Not worthy of another thread but his stint on 360 another load of fluff. No substance in what we're searching for from him.
In fairness the questions he was asked were hardly game dissecting queries ?
Spuds game dangerous tackles how’s coaching changed?
Not Pulitzer Prize/Walkley Award winning..
Overall, I thought he had some interesting insights but was a bit wishy washy about the teams patchy and up and down form. When asked about the W L W L pattern, he actually said he couldn’t remember who we played last week and doesn’t look back. He didn’t give us anything at all.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Does that a lot. Claims he doesn't know who we're playing next week or who we played last week.
I suspect it's a ruse to seem more laid back than he is. I might be being generous.
Be interesting if SaintsTV could get Ratts on and ask him for his take on the state of play. Assessment of our weaknesses, how we have improved. He doesn't have to be coy any more. Compare the media styles.
Lyon knows exactly what's going on and went on games, but I find his media coyness about what went on in games, not sure what the score was etc, just a little bit tedious and disingenuous.
One thing I picked up was he mentioned that the young forward line Cominitri, Poo,Owens and King wasn’t able to reset once Richmond got a run on and that he wasn’t able to send the runner out with messages.Perhaps this is where Membry or Cordy perhaps earn their spot I think a few people mentioned early in the season Cordy was good at organizing traffic.

yep
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has decided to bore everyone by giving them a sickly sweet tooth so that they will assume he's a nice enough fuddly, duddly old man, as he gets to work inside the tank.
Sacrificing his image of the cool and wry-behind-the-smiles-politely-reluctant-TVCoach man that made him 'cool' for 18 months on Footy Classified after his previously scathing press demeanor.
But I think that is going too far...
Clutching at straws as the inevitable shroud of our saviour melts away.

I think Lyon will be chatting to the forwards about pressure, and especially chasing- the Tigers just waltzed out of our forward half in the second quarter with little body contact from our forwards.

They talked about Saints potentially playing finals and he gave the usual cliched answers about 'trying to improve' and 'building from nothing' which is fine because you can't get ahead of yourselves.
He said we started with a blank canvas however there was a specific question regarding where the club thought they'd be early on in the year and where they sat on the ladder after rounds 6 or 7 and whether the planning changed at all.
Ross kept talking about 'no expectations' but that is bulltish!! If there were no expectations, and if we were looking to improve the players on the list, then why was Bytel made sub 4 times and why wasn't Windy brought into the team earlier? And why was Crouch and Sebby allowed the luxury of 3 poor to average games while Bytel and Windy were the sub or playing games at Sandringham?
You don't stop wanting success. You don't stop wanting to win. You don't stop wanting to be competitive as a coach and wanting to prove yourself
He could have easily spun it like this: "Yeah, we're hungry for success, everyone is. Everyone's goal in footy is playing and winning finals, to be in the best spot to win a premiership. I'm still not sure where this team sits in that regard but we are learning about ourselves every week"

I think if you’re waiting for Lyon to walk you through his internal thinking via the media..you’ll be waiting
He didn’t in 09 also …
I personally don’t mind it
Not cause I’m no 2 fanboy ticket holder
Because I don’t need to know everything he or the footy brains trust is thinking
I’ll see enough through the actions
If we start to see Owens Windy through middle more…it’s future time
If we recruit Dekonibg and give away 1st pick…its worry time
But I don’t need it laid out for me
We are now always in the news and a focus of media attention. Last year nobody but us supporters gave a stuff.

Wouldn’t rush out to buy a house from him!
Softened the sarcasm slightly but the 2009-2011 levels of bulls*** still prevail.
A year of exploration but we will continue to select Steele and Wood clearly injury limited!
He thinks he’s the smartest bloke in the room and interesting as well!

It's now wearing thinner than his hairdo.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
