Re: Howard
Douglas Howard, the new Zac Dawson
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Re: Howard
I think this pile on is ridiculous. He’s made some bad errors tonight and cost 2-3 goals. But bugger me, Wilkie has given up two and there are errors all over the place.
What’s not being posted is that he’s getting to contest after contest and having a real crack. He’s hitting the packs hard and hasn’t dropped his head. If half his team mates head Howard’s endeavour, the opposition would be afraid to get near it.
Byrnes
Owens
Higgins
Not given a yelp tonight and 1/2 through the third… really disappointing efforts from Steele and Ross too. King barely near it since the first quarter either.

Re: Howard
Word got into the coaches box that Howard got his own thread on Saintsational and left RTB no choice than to unleash the Sharmonator.
Sharman coming on nicely too by the way. Little bit of sub development and a lot of hard work and it's paying off. He is learning to impact and contribute consistently.

Re: Howard
Not a decent player in the wet, but has been solid all season.
Do you want Cordy? because that's all you get. Adams and Van Es are nowhere near ready.

Adams or Van Es

Re: Howard
Agreed, Cordy is not up to it, but Howard is a morale killer. Wilkie had a shocker but he’s got some credits in the bank surely?

Re: Howard
How does it benefit them to get smashed and lose games because of their efforts? Need to be a good VFL grade defender first.

Re: Howard
We don’t have anyone good enough to replace him THIS YEAR. Highmore is undersized but worth a look.
My point is, we aren’t going to win a flag with Doogs at FB. We need to urgently recruit a readymade FB.

Was not great, but not that bad
Conditions like that never gonna help Daddy Long Legs.
Wilkie and Battle also made errors
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Howard
Cordy is no better thats our issue. They may give him a chance but playing Brisbane next week I doubt he has the endurance to go with Daniher or Hipwood. RTB obviously wasn't impressed with Dougals game tonight, so Cordy might get a chance.

Re: Howard
The problem with Howard as I see it is he likes to handball but his handballs are always off target.
He sprays them all over the place.
That leads to turnovers where the team can least afford them.
Handballing tonight may as well been a bar of soap rather than a football.
When the ball is that slippery go for territory kick it long, chances are no-one will mark it.
There is no replacement for him.
Caminiti got minimal game time as height was not important.
Byrnes was pathetic, Owens had a shocker.
But it was the mids who failed, Crouch pulled his weight.
Even Windhager was better than Ross
Steele had a shocker heaps of handballs but rarely kicked.
But the game changer was the weather bureau delivering heavy rain.
Richmond play in rain regularly but St Kilda doesn't know what it is and the game plan doesn't work in those conditions.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Re: Howard
He seems to lack awareness, takes possession when he is bound to be tackled/dispossessed to the detriment of the team rather than punching or shielding, handballs to dangerous positions when he could just drop it to his feet and become the hunter, over estimates his reaction times. Coaches nightmare, all the physical attributed but lacks nous.ace wrote: ↑Sun 18 Jun 2023 1:37am The problem with Howard as I see it is he likes to handball but his handballs are always off target.
