Jack Steele shouldn’t be playing. Not half the player of past few years.

Wood has been alright.
Byrnes done nothing
Mids very ordinary
We'll lose by 8 goals with this effort

You’re living in the past. You’re talking about the way things were 30-40 or 50 years ago…desertsaint wrote: ↑Sat 17 Jun 2023 9:36pmlook at that rain. in winter. bugger that.
Check the Bureau of meteorology figures for Sydney and Brisbane rainfall and then come back to me
“More than 2.5 metres of rain has fallen on Sydney this year, obliterating the city's previous annual rainfall record by more than 300 mm.”
“ Total rainfall for Brisbane was estimated (from nearby sites) at 2036 mm, which is 191% of the long-term calculated average of 1067.3 mm. This is the wettest annual total since 1974 (using combined sites) and the fifth-wettest on record since official Brisbane records began in 1840”

Would’ve thought the message at qtr time would’ve/should’ve been
The rain is coming, when it does - smash the ball forward at all times!
That Dougal Howard handball was shocking
1/ that he even attempted it
2/ execution

Re: Match Thread Round 14 2023 V Richmond
Yep
This side is not serious finals ready
Draw flattered us
As Fox said getting smashed at the source - clearance contested ball
Mids AGAIN just not up to it.
Going nowhere with this midfield
Gotta go backwards to go forward imo
We need A grade talent and not massive $$ for FA spuds who don’t live up to the hype
Hit the top end of the drsft
FFS get Owens out of ruck and let him go in as a genuine mid to hunt the ball

But no alternate full back. Might have to play Owens there and move Dougal to a fwd pocket.
The cupboard is bare and shows when Wilkie decides tonight is when to get the fumbles.

This is what happens when someone else starts the game day thread.

Marshall is not good in the ruck. Can get the ball around the ground but that’s about it.

Owens 2 possessions. Needs to get into the game. Byrnes 3 possessions, Ross 9, Steele 10, Wood and Gresham 8 a piece. Wet weather football. Just get it forward.

Surely Van Es or Adams cannot be worse than Howard, they certainly wouldn't be stupider.
Worst half of Wilkie's career, he needs to lead in the second half.
Time to get creative and let the kids into some centre bounces. Crouch cannot do it all, only Windhager looks like giving him support. Let Owens and Phillipou have a go roving to Marshall, even NWM would be worth a go, or Stocker.

Re: Match Thread Round 14 2023 V Richmond
The midfield is as bad as it can possibly be. Our captain is getting flogged and shouldn't be playing anyway. Ross and Byrnes are nowhere near it, the half back line is continually kicking to the opposition. Caminiti kicked a goal, but is nowhere near it and should be subbed for Sharman. Higgins and Gresh are putting no defensive pressure on. Poo is doing ok Don't know where we go from here.

Windy is shadowing Shai Bolton
I think half our mids are more interested in tagging/defending than they are in winning the footy
It’s probably (don’t get your knickers in a knot RTB fanboys) a bit to do with coaching instruction or coaches priorities

If we are to lose I’d rather see a future midfield given a go
We are carrying just to many beige players - Ross Byrnes Howard
Wood gone missing

We haven't adapted to the conditions at all.
