I can't believe I'm looking ahead but it seems as though last year's 2 Grand Final teams could both miss out on finals

That means that at least three of the following have a good chance. Essendon, Adelaide, The Dogs, Freo, St Kilda are all odds on to earn a spot ...and perhaps even the Gold Coast Suns could sneak in. If Richmond beat us ...they are still in the hunt.

After Saturday night (if we play at our best) we could go 3 games clear of Geelong AND 3 games clear of Freo and Gold Coast

Geelong play 7/10 against top 8 teams. They left their run too late and Port just crashed their party. They will take a dive, look for a new Selwood and probably snatch ex falcon Parish.
The Bulldogs should hold on but have been inconsistent.
Freo are farked despite recent form.
Adelaide are good enough to hold 8th

But it's more than possible that Adelaide or Footscray give way to the Suns. The Coasters are on fire and coming home with a good run.

I reckon we will win the next 3.

Interesting of our next 5 games we are only bookie favourites in one (WCE). Was pretty surprised by this. I think we can sneak into the 8; but at this stage I doubt we have the midfield personnel to compete in finals

IMO the form of three players with potential to significantly improve will be really important. Byrnes, Stocker and Steele. If they can we will be a much more competitive outfit. Jack seems to be working back to aerobic fitness, Liam seems to have lost his early confidence and Ryan having improved seems to have plateaued. Love to see him go for more marks and nail a goal a game. Stocker should be looking over his shoulder at Coff and Ryan could be swapped for Windhager with Bytel into the mids mix. Bit of a coaching task to squeeze a bit more from those guys. With most of the rest what you see is what you get. Be nice if Higgins and Butler fired together in games.

Today’s Sun has us finishing 10th maybe a bit generous. They predict us winning against West Coast, North and Carlton, doubt we will beat Carlton and always struggle with North in reality we are a bottom 6 team so finishing 10th would only be due to our good start.

The majority of us haven't been to a St Kilda final since 2011 so of course it would be awesome to make them again and see us have a game at the G.

I see the RTB ego getting a shot in the arm if we can make the finals, and i see it spreading through the whole coaching team and club. In a positive way. Not enough for us to get high on supply, but just enough to really roll the sleeves back for '24
