Paddy is out for the rest of the year.
All the best young man, bloody hard road back from here.
From the swans website:
“Sydney Swans defender Paddy McCartin will sit out the remainder of the AFL season as he continues to recover from ongoing concussion symptoms.
McCartin has been working with club medical staff and external specialists since suffering concussion in the club’s Round 4 match against Port Adelaide. The injury was the first significant incident the 27-year-old experienced since his return to senior football in 2021.
Whilst McCartin has been making progress in his recovery and commenced some light exercise, he is still experiencing mild symptoms and is yet to make a full recovery.
The club has transferred the key defender to the club’s inactive list as he continues to focus on his overall recovery.”
I guess they were giving it till now - mid season draft tomorrow so putting him on the inactive list opens up a spot for them.
McCartin out for the rest of ‘23

I think the Swans will retire him and give a job at the club. They have their hands tied.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Well, at least he got to play in a GF. A shame it wasn’t a winning GF, but he did pretty well in his tenure for Sydney. I just wish we had a chance to play him in our backline.
There was a rumour that around the time the club delisted him, Lethlean told him that he’d be picked up in the rookie draft. Seems pretty cruel, if there’s any truth in that.
