Re: Sandy v Coburg
Didn't see the game (can you watch outside of Vic?)
Keeler 3 goals, all in the first half.
Connolly looking promising without being world beating.

Not much to mention unfortunately. Watched the 2nd half and besides a gimme goal he hardly got near it.

Watched game live ,windy dominated and should've played afl . Apart from him no one else put their hand up imo .Saintmike65 wrote: ↑Sun 28 May 2023 9:14am 2 questions:
How was Windhager defensively & who were our goal kickers?

Re: Sandy v Coburg
Personally think this period will be great for Windys development and confidence.
Hope he is in next week.
Would like to think both he and Owens come in next week.
Clark inj. Out
Then one of paton/Ross
Sharman or Billings as sub

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Sandy v Coburg
Peris has impoved heaps since start of the year . Keeler is a possible future star and Heath looks like a future AFL player.
Re: Sandy v Coburg
The Coaches summary of the game repeated what we saw
So back to the coal face
Lyon referred to where he saw the margin should have been - an easy Hawthorn win in a very even competition (hey, we beat GWS on their dung heap last week and now they beat Geelong at their fortress so go figure)
Lyon referred to certain players including Windhager
Given Lyon is the head coach you take notice of what he says
Sandringham were against the bottom side, without a win but that bottom side ran in waves and looked dangerous
We have some kids at Sandringham who are on track
What is really pleasing is that some have size
It would be interesting to interview Lyon post the Sandringham game noting he made the point of wanting to exit the press conference to get to the game

Re: Sandy v Coburg
And I know Ratten had big wraps on Peris last season and expected him to develop.

Tyson Milne with 31 disposals...how is he tracking? Good form or just a day out?
Seems most of Sandy had their very own personal footballs with them yesterday.

Re: Sandy v Coburg
Windy was excellent. He was everywhere. Clearly to good for AFL level. Had a lovely 50m set shot.Saintmike65 wrote: ↑Sun 28 May 2023 9:14am 2 questions:

Max Heath was an early goal kicker but he faded out. Keeler was awesome. Did a lot of defensive tackling in our forward 50.
I will say Cordy, Peris and Highmore did some nice things early and then went missing. Billings, Membrey, Connolly, Van Es and Adam’s were just pedestrian.
Two best for us Windhager and Keeler. Keeler will be special. He’s deceptively quick for a big boy, reads the ply well, can kick a goal, can tap. I hope Ross gives him a call up against West Coast Eagles or something.

Been a year of development for Tyson, and he is starting to look good.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sun 28 May 2023 11:39am Tyson Milne with 31 disposals...how is he tracking? Good form or just a day out?

I was at the annual dinner when Roo and Joey retired and where Tyson was mentioned as a future father/son recruit.
I thought he had missed the boat but an adventurous recruiting officer might give him a second chance.
Unfortunately, we don't have that person on staff.

Re: Sandy v Coburg
Billings had at least 5 goal assists
Every time he touched the ball Sandy scored
He is a class above VFL level
24 possessions playing as a small forward (wrong position) is better than average

My excitement in us picking up Keeeler in the draft is being vindicated and Tyson Milne definitely needs to be considered in upcoming drafts - he is coming along really well

Re: Sandy v Coburg
So Membrey did squat
Billing’s meh ..
It’s Windhager and Keeler ?
I’d love to see exploration go up a notch ….
Keeler IF he could tap ….how useful could that be …
