This will be a tough game to win. I'm particularly worried about Nash and Lewis.

Would be nice to see a dominant performance, not an ugly win, not a mulligan, not a “bank the 4 points and move on”, we should smash them.

Cooper Sharman is the sub. Probably the most versatile of the emergencies
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 11 2023
Our main problem is going to be with the Hawthorn midfield, which is possibly a little better than ours. Still, we really should win and win well.

A poor first quarter. We're lucky to be ahead. If Clark doesn't come back on, our midfield is going to be even weaker. I guess Stocker can play further forward and Sharman can come into the backline.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 11 2023
Midfield centre bounce is a genuine concern
We have to turn over the midfield
Going nowhere with this mix
Get Sincs in there ffs

Just wondering if our forward entries could get any worse?

Paton's inability to compose himself with ball in hand is just awful.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 11 2023
Why are Webster and Paton in the same team?
Paton is a small defender and FA else
Terrible option for a sub last week as he lacks versatility and unless Stocker or Webster get injured is useless
Playing on a wing and Billings in the seconds is ridiculous
Role players never beat class players!
Higgins and Gresham are horrendous kicks
And our mids can’t win a stoppage-

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 11 2023
I'm far more concerned with how easily the Hawks are being allowed to move the ball from defence to our forward 50. We seem to be committing to lots of impossible attempts at tackling rather than protecting space in the way that Lyon-coached teams are supposed to do. With the umpires refusing to penalise any form of incorrect disposal other than a throw, tackling is becoming an increasingly futile exercise. We are attempting it way too often. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 27 May 2023 3:16pm Just wondering if our forward entries could get any worse?

Coffield is injured. Ben Paton is a turnover merchant. We do well when he never gets the ball.
