Bytel is sub do we play him for 2 quarters before our game

It might be beneficial to play Bytel for half of the VFL game to get his match fitness up so he could come one whenever and have a impact straight away in the AFL game.
Yes he might come on early but its still a significate rest and the VFL is not as intense as the AFL.
If he did get injured in the VFL then change the Sub and only play new sub for the half a game I really think its a win all round.

The problem is what if someone gets injured in the first quarter? Then he won't be able to run out the game.

They really should just get rid of the sub and have 5 on the bench. It makes no sense to me why we have a sub again.

Totally agree sub is useless unless if a player is taken off (not injured) and someone gets injured the player who has come off should be able to come back in as long as they are not injured.
That would then fall back into normal rotation numbers other wise its not really a tactical sub and you might find teams using the sub a lot earlier then.
Or just scrub the sub and 5 on bench which is a great idea
