Just hope it's a less stressful game next Saturday.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Liam Stocker's disposal is unbelievable, didn't miss a target all day.... I'm sure the baggers could use him now!

Mate they were terrible, very rarely do you hear commentators openly criticising umpires like they were tonight. With that in mind thought we definitely got the rub of the green. The Higgins holding will give me nightmare thoughThe Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 21 May 2023 8:26pmThought the umpires were ok. I wish we didn’t have to keep “taking the win” and could put up a dominant performance!
In the next 5 weeks we play teams 12, 14, 16 and 18 on the ladder.
Positive from today was returning players looking good, unfortunate about Owens.
Also think Pou needs a rest. Very promising but needs a break

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 10 2023
I’m seeing this standard every week, so I just go with the flow now. At least they weren’t one-sided and that’s all anyone can hope for. One thing I won’t do is blame the umpires for every loss. We have someone on here that does…… is just plain self punishingBrunswicksainter wrote: ↑Sun 21 May 2023 8:29pmMate they were terrible, very rarely do you hear commentators openly criticising umpires like they were tonight. Yep, it’s not like it was 28-14 or anything ridiculous like that! The Fireman wrote: ↑Sun 21 May 2023 8:32pmI’m seeing this standard every week, so I just go with the flow now. Though some are still not happy with 18-14!

Good to see Owens singing the song with the boys.
Hopefully good to go after the bye.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person to notice this. It was appalling. Clark looked everywhere except the goals. Byrnes looked like, ' Gee, you don't really expect me to kick it if I'm more that 2 metres out?"

They're both not KP Forwards
It's Hogan's job to kick them and he missed a far easier set shot
Ever tried kicking the footy when the ground is slippery and firm under foot?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 10 2023
Mate…c’mon…
They are meant to be the best/most highly skilled players in Australia. Most local grounds are cut up, wet & slippery now. No excuse for appalling set shots & lack of skill.
Talk about being spoilt, not every ground will be a bowling green each week.
That shot from Byrnes was abysmal.
No pressure, had already won and it nearly missed his foot!

They didn't used to run 15km in the old days...
But even Dunstall, Plugger and Peter Hudson missed 'em too

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 10 2023
But you are saying the grounds were worse than today in the same argument. Mud that was inches deep in those era’s too.
If we need a goal to win after the siren then we are in big strife. Who would you actually trust to kick 7/10? from 35-45m out? Very slim pickings and it’s been like that for far too long.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 10 2023
I like to take credit… I pointed out that he had four touches with 10min to go in the second, hadn’t touched the ball for almost a quarter of play time.
Proceeded to have 8 touches in the remainder of that quarter and a huge second half. Someone obviously showed him my post… and for that I’m glad
