Clear 50 no the umpire pays high so there’s a free.
Correct - clear mark - pay the free - so it cannot get a 50 from the same act. The mark (and so end of that pay) was over before the Crow player impacted with his clothesline

This is evidenced because the Crows player just kept running - not contested the ball.

You think maybe if the umpires favoured us we'd improve our kicking?

Maybe we'd be only 40 points down you reckon?
Imagine going to Adelaide and coming away with an 18-14 free kick count in your favour, yet still blaming the umps for the 9 goal loss.
Still can't hear you!

You're right. You could see this coming.

The coach and match committee have set us up

I really mean that. They set us up for failure with poor match committee decisions... what's even funnier is that 3-4 weeks ago Hilly said something like 'Ross has brought selection integrity'

Players getting games when they are struggling with form and others like Windy, Billings, Bytel not getting a look in.

Gresham's clearance work has been missed today

Agree and disagree. Our hands have been tied with selection due to injury. Byrnes Paton Hammer Pou all would have had spells in the twos

Webster at 30 years of age is not an answer.

Ditto Ross, and the reasons I would be giving Windhager preference over Ross were (once again) obvious today.

We have first choice players in King, Billings, Coffield, Gresham and Windhager to introduce into this side.

So who are the 5 who will be under pressure?

And that is before you give any kids who are performing at VFL level the opportunity to impact at AFL level.

There may be some surprises.

Today Adelaide just scored their goals far, far too easily.

The reason for this was obvious.

The silver service their forwards received

So why was such silver service on offer?

No doubt Lyon and his Coaching Panel will learn from this and apply the remedy.

As Lyon has said, he is still learning about the players on our List.

We will see what today has instructed.

That was not the same Adelaide who played us. They set themselves for us and this week were flat.

A week is a long time in footy.

No Tex means it was always a different outfit to the one that played St Kilda.

Injury to Thilthorpe and Tex missing too. The plan was probably always to play Walker for the home game last week, but rest him for the away game at Ballarat.

Too much sitting and travelling on buses

I don't know but perhaps an interstate trip against Adelaide wasn't worth showing up for.

Always seem to have to make justifications or excuses for our club.
It was certainly worth Port Adelaide's while showing up interstate against us and winning.
Need to win these games to gain respect for themselves and from the football public.

Not an excuse, but not many would argue we didn't turn up and Adelaide did. And this week Adelaide phoned it in.

Therein lies your answer - where would the Crows be if they didn't have their forwards in all year?

I expect us to improve massively with Max and Caminiti back in playing together for the first time.

100 points + tomorrow!

Not directed at you specifically. Like us, you're a hopeful supporter.
It's the club's results....why not turn up?
The two weeks prior were hardly impressive so no excuse for the woeful Adelaide game.
Our insipid performance made them look better than what they are.

Good question. I'm as stumped as anyone. Is it by design? Do we understand why we were so flat? Were Adelaide just better than us?

The effort and work around stoppages clearly wasn't where it was at the start of the year. How much of that is us, and how much is the opposition "stopping them from playing the way they want to play", to paraphrase RTB.

For what it's worth I only caught the game on radio and not keen to watch a replay.

No...sorry...I was just talking about the journey from Tullamarine to Ballarat

As well as the sitting in the plane across from Adelaide
