Straight swap Caminiti for Gresh then?

Why couldn’t Windhager be selected and tag out Laird or Dawson. He kicked a goal, 27 disposals and 11 inside 50s. Leo hasn’t done squat. Ridiculous.

I think this game is going to be a struggle under event the best circumstances, so I have no issue being conservative with guys and getting them cherry ripe for next week

Re: Gresham out; Connolly In
I'm also perplexed why Windhager, who made his name as a strong tagger/stopper last year, can't get a game.
I suspect Bytel will take on Gresham's role as a mid/forward.
Caminiti surely is in for Sharman, which makes the bench Bytel, Clark, Butler and probaby Paton, with either Cordy or Sharman the sub.
Marshall might have looked proppy at training on Wednesday but it's supposed to just be a rolled ankle which should be fine by Sunday, maybe get a couple of jabs to ease any lingering pain.....

He looked very proppy. Like he couldn't put his full weight through one foot. Gresham actually looked way better by comparison. Would not at all be surprised if Campbell playsImpatient Sainter wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 3:09pm Apparently Marshall looked pretty sore and not moving well at training on Wednesday aswell.

Re: Gresham out; Connolly In
The like-for-like with Gresham is actually Jack Peris (who's done way more than Connolly and is a significantly better runner). A bit puzzlingTheGreatZacsby wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 3:14pm Why couldn’t Windhager be selected and tag out Laird or Dawson. He kicked a goal, 27 disposals and 11 inside 50s. Leo hasn’t done squat. What's very clear is that RtB likes runners. Above pretty much everything else. There's no better runner in the entire AFL than Peris. And it's not even close

Re: Gresham out; Connolly In
It doesn’t matter if they name Connolly, Windhager, Peris or Jack Hayes. It’s just a name they have to give when Gresham dropped out.
I’m sure they have already worked out who is going to play and who will be the sub.

Connolly won't even get on the plane.TheGreatZacsby wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 3:14pm Why couldn’t Windhager be selected and tag out Laird or Dawson. He kicked a goal, 27 disposals and 11 inside 50s. Leo hasn’t done squat. Ridiculous.
They will only need 24 players 22 playing + 1 medical sub + 1 extra for safety.
But they had to put another name forward if they wanted to officially say Gresham is out.

Re: Gresham out; Connolly In
Josh Battle is definitely on the plane, Jack Bytel probably on the plane, maybe medical sub or travelling emergency.
Does that answer your question.

Sharman kept his spot and Cordy isn’t playing. No meltdown, how disappointing.

Oh I’m so disappointed our ‘structural champ’ Cordy won’t be playing……… it won’t be any fun reading the Matchday thread on SS on Sunday……. that would have been more entertaining than the actual match itself me thinks.meher baba wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 6:49pm Sharman kept his spot and Cordy isn’t playing. I guess I’ll have to just be contented with Curly’s unbiased vociferous comments on the umpiring

Cordy may still enter the arena as our Super Sub Saviour in the 4th quarter , he will need to be told which way we are kicking in (any) a 4th quarterloris wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 7:08pmOh I’m so disappointed our ‘structural champ’ Cordy won’t be playing……… it won’t be any fun reading the Matchday thread on SS on Sunday……. that would have been more entertaining than the actual match itself me thinks.meher baba wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 6:49pm Sharman kept his spot and Cordy isn’t playing. Little disappointed Billings isn't named to replace Gresham.
Doubt Connolly will play.

Re: Gresham out; Connolly In
Out of curiosity, who do we think is facing the most pressure this Sunday...
Caminiti
Sharman
Membrey
Butler
Byrnes
Paton
or another???
Some reasonable players are looking to be playing AFL in the next one to three weeks.

I’m a bit uncertain of where & who this pressure is coming from on these players GL.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 12 May 2023 7:29pm Out of curiosity, who do we think is facing the most pressure this Sunday...

Do you mean pressure from the Club & coaches?
Or do you mean pressure from some of the experts on SS?
Now that is what I call pressure, all of the players you mention, bar one, Caminiti, have at some stage been ‘whipping boys’ of some of our SS experts.
I’ll closely read the match day thread to see if, ‘Heaven to Betsy’ one of these whipping boys is stupid enough to make a mistake and, thereby leave a big target on his back for the baying mob of experts to crucify him mercilessly. Now that is real pressure being placed on some of the favourite whipping boys of SS experts.
Who cares what RTB, Boris, Haves, Lenny & match selection team think of the said players output & adherence to their roles? That’s all small stuff, compared with SS experts on ‘whipping boys’ with knives at the ready.
