Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
If King is ready, he comes in for one of Membrey or Sharman: more likely the latter.
If King is not ready, I would bring in Caminiti for one of those two, as I think we need more height up forward, but I’m not sure the selectors would do that.
Barring injury - and I’ve heard nothing about how Gresham and Marshall pulled up - I don’t expect to see any other changes.

If Webster is fit, he comes in for Paton.

Like cricket. Win toss, bat. Wicket looks lively, think about putting other side in, then still bat.
No/minimal changes to winning side.
Caminiti in, Membrey a Zebra.

Dropping one of your most senior players for a rookie is hardly a minimal change.

It is in scope of this year. In fact, it seems logical, too.meher baba wrote: ↑Wed 10 May 2023 8:54amDropping one of your most senior players for a rookie is hardly a minimal change.
Not that Caminiti is better, he has just done better.

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Crows are always hard to beat over there especially when in the form they are in now. King and Caminiti probably need to come in but the former will be a bit under done so predict a loss but not a hammering

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Crows form is hyped. Yes they have played well - certainly in comparison to last year and where most had them but they’ve had a heap of games at home and only 4 wins to show for it

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Everyone seems to be judging Membrey as a key position full forward.
He simply is not tall enough for that, but he was required to attempt that because of injuries and the ball was being dumped to full forward.
He did not play poorly against North, that was King and Caminiti who both contributed nothing (from the stands).
Membrey is the dangerous guy you play on the forward line because he is a great mark and contributes goals.
Caminiti has the form to be first key position forward, he replaces someone smaller, maybe Gresham fit or not fit.
If King is fit he should be played into form at Sandringham.
I would be replacing Phillipou, hard to do after be gifted a rising star nomination for the most fumbles.
He needs a spell at Sandringham to improve his ball handling.
Bytel, Windhager or Billings should considered as replacements.

Ross stated The Hammer ready to go and that Cordy has had a rest ànd may come back in to the team . Ross liked the mix of the first few weeks ..mmm that will get a few heads spinning but Ross also said Cordy has been very important to us ...so don't be surprised if Cordy comes in .

If selection integrity was true on current output not reputation no way Membrey stays in that side.
Bet he does

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
bwahahaha re Ross suggesting that Cordy might come back this week.
It is possible that he doesn't intend to do it but is suggesting he might simply to troll the supporters. I have heard on reasonable authority that he is inclined to check out the fan forums from time to time to see what people are saying about him, so he would be aware of the fans' attitude towards Cordy.
Alternatively, this might actually be his plan. It has to be said that our forward line looked far better in the first five rounds than in the last 3. Perhaps King will be given more time to recover or play for Sandy this week, and Caminiti and Cordy will come back in for Membrey and Sharman, so that things up forward will be back to the way they were in the first 5 rounds.
I reckon we could do a lot worse than that lineup. And, if it happens, the meltdowns on here and BF will be entertaining.

Good post. I generally agree with most of thatace wrote: ↑Wed 10 May 2023 9:19pm Everyone seems to be judging Membrey as a key position full forward.

I think it's going to be impossible to drop MP considering as you say the RS nomination but also the fact that he's playing in front of family and friends in Adelaide

Selections will be made for many reasons but I can tell you what the most important reason is…….structure

That 2.5-3 quarters a game standing in the forward line wearing him down was it?Rubyjo wrote: ↑Wed 10 May 2023 11:02pm Ross stated The Hammer ready to go and that Cordy has had a rest ànd may come back in to the team . Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Depends on whether you can trust the club's injury list as posted today.
https://www.saints.com.au/news/1327479/ ... in-on-king
King 1 week that should mean he doesn't play.
But Tony has yet to have the final word on whether King is fit to play.

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Damn, here was me thinking the most important reason was selecting the team most likely to win against the week's opposition team.
Second I Thought was the team that would provide the best percentage boost.
Seems winning the 4 points and boosting percentage aren't that important.

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
I'm in two minds about Membrey. If you drop him this week then he has the chance to play himself back into some form without much of his reputation tarnished. If you play him and he has another stinker, it's a long way back from there.

Re: Adelaide Preview Thread.
Caminiti coming straight back in will do wonders for TM. Give the guy a break.
I wouldn’t be surprised if King doesn’t play as playing both him and Caminiti might be a bit too much of a structural change. This will happen in the next few weeks which will hopefully release Owens into the midfield.
