Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Other areas should have been downgraded based on video
But hammer did not help with his answers or advice answers
Following the Twitter our defence team and hammer himself did not handle it too well
Poorly prepared on face value

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Yeah, just another injustice handed out to one of the AFL's minor teams. Move on nothing to see here. f*** me, it gets tedious.
3 weeks is better than I hoped for. Pity the filth player wasn't cited.

I think 3 weeks is a good result considering everything.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
The delusional theories going on here to try get him off were nothing more than that - delusions.
Was always going to go, was talk of 5-6 weeks, so 3 is a good result for those who live in the real world.
In my opinion

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
I'm only ok with the penalty because given his previous experience after five games at AFL level a bit of a training break and rest might be in order. So he comes back refreshed and stronger next month. Also makes Membrey in/out decision easy.
Marquee players often get nothing or one for much worse incidents so three is still harsh.

Yes I had a chuckle at that
Clearly some daddy issues with middle aged men me thinks..
It doesn’t change the fact though
Murphy action to hit a 19 year old kid who wasn’t looking when he hit him = SQUIB
Come to daddy DB ….alls right with the world…

Considering the absolute shellacking we typically cop at the tribunal!

I think 2 was right
But will take 3
The media hysteria was incredible
Just watch this repeat for “a big club” and they find a way to argue there was nothing in it…

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
I go back to B.M.'s post when looking at Caminiti's 3 weeks. It is a genuine kangaroo court when Caminiti's reaction gets one more week than Kosi-Pickett's gutless act against Smith.
Nothing about the AFL MRO / Tribunal is transparent, much like the AFL's fixturing.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
I wonder how many weeks he would have got if he'd been wearing a Swans jumper, or a Richmond jumper

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Well, I just told the missus that Caminiti got three weeks,
Her response. " That is ridiculous there was nothing in it."
I have to agree with her. There was more in the coward punch from the filth player.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Joke but expected.
Defence was correct to claim he was pushing off rather than retaliating to Murphys gutless act.

As the league’s scapegoat, we should just be grateful Hammer wasn’t suspended for 8 weeks as some like Gerard Whateley were crying our for.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
It was looked at - insufficient force.

Yeah, Caminiti stayed on his feet and later didn't fake concussion.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
From the tribunal
Tribunal chair Jeff Glesson said Caminiti did not intend to strike Murphy in the head but it was careless.
“Murphy’s body lowers before impact and that appears to have significantly contributed to Caminiti’s forearm making contact with his head rather than his neck or shoulder,” he said.
“We also note that at all time after impact, Caminiti did not even glance down at Murphy, who was lying motionless on the ground.
“This is consistent with a player who did not intend to strike or knew that he had struck his opponent to the head.
“The question is whether Caminiti intended to strike Murphy in the body, he gave evidence that he intended to push off to get separation and in his evidence he CANDIDLY ADMITTED it was a FORCEFUL push.
“The vision shows a swinging impact and we are not entirely convinced that he was doing no more than pushing, nor are we entirely satisfied that Caminiti intended to commit a reportable offence of a strike to the body.”
in the end careless ....severe impact...high impact
I am sure given the chairman highlighted admitted FORCEFUL contact that if argued and no admission by player he may have got the penalty of 2 weeks

Why would a player fake a concussion?? What a ridiculous thing to say.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
This Murphy has a history of concussions, a bit like McCartin, who is ko’d by the most seemingly-innocuous incidents.
Concussions has become a minefield for the AFL, hence its desperation to be seen to be taking strong action on anything that leads to a concussion. I see now Ablett Sr will sue the league over historic injuries.
How long before the league puts a limit on how many concussions a player can have before he is retired against his will.
