Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
I reckon Caminiti can go a bit. Murphy went down like he’d copped one flush on the jaw and might have gotten one in he solar plexus before that. Our guy has very quick hands plus a long reach.
Murphy had it coming, but the AFL - being an organisation where how it presents is everything - won’t look on it too kindly.
Because he’s just a kid and it’s his first time up, he might get away with just a couple of weeks.

That might be why the alleged concussion. Filth trying to weaken us for the brown -baggers game.Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Mon 17 Apr 2023 12:21amAgree to an extent. Reckless, high contact and huge impact cause Caminiti gonna knock your arse out.
f*** the 2 weeks, well earnt. Pussies like that shouldn't be playing on Anzac Day. Repercussion concussion, sad, dangerous, but appropriate in the circumstances.
Niggle compared to that are much different.
But consequences are we lose a tall forward for an important game.

Given that Lynch was not upheld at the Tribunal even though he was injured I would challenge any sanction (except a fine)

The cowardly filth pig threw a king hit from behind and got sat on his arse for his troubles. Caminiti should cop a fine and nothing else, but hey, he is a Saints player.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
So you’re saying Murphy king hit Caminiti. That makes more sense although I’d say a little exaggerated. I thought you were suggesting the hammer king hit drop kick Murphy.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Mon 17 Apr 2023 8:14am
He struck Caminiti first. It was cowardly, Caminiti was turning, it was filthy behaviour, even for a football field.
His force was probably greater than Caminiti's, it was not only intentional but a gross violation of his code of conduct and the rules and had Caminiti ducked the same way he did, then, he'd probablybe telling us how remorseful he was.
It's extraordinary that he will probably get off scott-free. The message it sends to young people, young men and woman is irresponsible, to say the least.
On a day when we say, just looking the other way is not ok.
Like I said, Caminiti earnt his weeks and he will do them, but that other d**khead should do just as many for his part. Caminiti was defending himself.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Looks like a few posters are setting themselves up for a week of drama and disappointment!
If the Collingwood bloke is indeed concussed from the incident then Caminiti is gone for a few weeks at least.

All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

David King on SEN just said he’s watched it 20 times and still doesn’t know what happened other than Murphy lowering himself caused the contact.

I can handle Caminiti going, but only if Murphy is cited also.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Are you saying that you think the collingwood doctors are fudging a concussion report, which takes their player out as well, so we dont have Caminiti for a game against another side? Do you realise how ridiculous that is? Much more likely than Caminiti landing one on him intentionally or carelessly?saynta wrote: ↑Mon 17 Apr 2023 10:45amThat might be why the alleged concussion. Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
I agree
Hope it’s 2 at worst for Caminiti
Murphy should get 1 for being a squib
What’s the **** point of 4 umpires if they can’t seee this rubbish??
If Murphy was pulled up immediately then Caminiti would have no reason to strike

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
That's a sensible comment: it's really hard to work out from the video exactly what was Caminiti's intenition It might be argued that there were two hits on Murphy's head, and that the second one was deliberate, or at least reckless. But I still reckon that's a bit tough on the young fella. I don't think it would be at all fair to suggest that he intended to cause any serious harm to Murphy. In a sense, that puts him in the same category as Harry McKay's hit on Sheezel, except for the concussion bit.
On the concussion issue: one report I saw suggested that the Collingwood club doctor ruled Murphy out from the Anzac Day clash without even examining him, simply on the basis of his history of concussions. That would potentially add a bit of complexity to the assessment of "impact."
I still reckon it would be most unjust for Caminiti to get more than 2 weeks.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Two lessons from this, one for opponents and one for Caminiti.
For opponents, don’t mess with Anthony Caminiti. He doesn’t like it.
For Caminiti, keep your aggression - which is laudable- within the rules. Otherwise your career will be a short one.
We need our key forwards to be playing, not suspended

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
He'll miss a couple of weeks, but I've got to say, I'm pleased he stands up for himself as a 19 year old .
He has pride and we've seen him fly the flag for his team-mates a few times also.
Good signs for a forward, I'm sure he'll learn from this incident and channel his aggression into goals.

Murphy took a dive, hoping for an advantage for his team.
He is a squib

I guess we could make a plea around bullying or young players. Lol would put the AFL in a hard spot, given it’s activism on social issues

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
How many weeks did that players arse get for concussing McCartin?
Impact is clearly not correlating with outcome. Hit two different players in the same way and get two different punishments.
I believe you need punish for 'potential' and determine how much the offending player was in control.

Actually Murphy hit him first. He should be cited also.
