Do you do weddings as well B.M. or just children's parties?

Why can't people enjoy the start to the season? Who has pencilled in our 2nd flag or even finals? It's exciting because it's unexpected and without some of our usual suspects.

In 2009 we had all time greats Roo, Dal, Hayes, BJ, Joey, Milne, Fisher in their prime! and a heap of excellent role players

If you combined the two sides on Steele, Marshall, Wilkie, Sinclair and maybe Crouch would get a look in in the 23!
No dual B&F in that list??

My goodness gracious me

Seb at his best is definitely worthy and the young guys haven't proved themselves but I reckon in time ...King and Pou and Owens and Windy will all be worthy too

garbage. We had a heap of average players in 2009 outside those greats you mentioned. Looking at the 2009 GF team...Max King walks into the combined team. He is better than Kosi for a start. Ross over Jones, Higgo over McQualter, Battle over Blake (and i am a huge blake fan) or else over Gilbert. On form Wood over Ray. Or Hill over Ray. Owens over Clarke.

We had stars back then but we did not have superior depth than we have now. Plenty of this current team would have played games in that era.

doom and gloom - the winning only makes the inevitable pain worse. we need a loss to remove some pressure. no, two losses. maybe more?

Streak DVD from 2004

Hawks supporter mate still laughs about it!
Your mate is misinformed and needs to get a life.

The company that had the copyright to the broadcast made the commercial decision to produce and market the DVD so most likely it had nothing to do with the club as clubs do not have any distribution rights under the media deal.

Just keeping thing in perspective

I try not to get to far ahead of myself in sport

It’s not negative- it’s realistic

BTW
The 2009 team would beat this team by 10+ goals!

I would have said 20+ goals.

apples and oranges, at least 3 to 4 years away from knowing if we can produce another team capable of being as good as the 2009 team.

The role players in 2009 did their job brilliantly

Many of them ended up 100/150/200 gamers

Blake, Baker, McQualter, Jones, Dawson, Gilbert, Ray, Gardiner, Gram

All were excellent in their positions

Eg
McQualter was a defensive forward who excelled at frontal pressure and still kicked 20 goals

We are carrying on like we’ve qualified for finals - with 19 to go!!!

Should I remind people of 2022??
Honestly you’re the only one carrying on
Rest of us know we’ll have our down moments they’re coming and the side us not top 4 quality- we know that
We also know we’ll lose games - how do we know this??
Cause Ross told us
I believe everything Ross says.

The 2009 team, good and skilled as as it was, was vulnerable on the outside to a quick, running side.
It didn't have the spread or the run that we have today - even though we had more star players back then.

Essendon, much lower on the ladder, showed us up, big time.
We went after Lovett for that reason.

I think if we get everyone back, we'd give the 2009 side a good run for its money.

But if Ross is our Coach Teflon

And coaches are the Panacea to greatness

How does Collingwood beat us?

Interesting that a 4 time premiership coach is getting pantsed by a 0 time premiership coach right now!

Reason
s*** coaches can win with great lists
Great coaches can’t win with s*** lists

I think Ross is a good coach - absolutely

But this list will have him middling

Ratten got them to 11-11 and that’s about where they were 2022

Ratten had a lot of injuries last year. We were 8-3 prior to that.

You have to factor in Owens, Phillipou, Caminiti playing every game - it's a different look team and we have a fit Gresham. Then there's Wood and Hill playing on the wing (where they belong) and Byrnes improving, it's providing a lot more run.
We have plenty of endurance athletes - which suits the current game-style.
We are not King-focussed - our forward line is functioning a lot better.

We are better than middling, especially if everyone becomes available.

I guess we will see R23

Hope we are

We are build a good side for 2025 imo

We are workmanlike - lot of good players - not many great players
I’d say Sinclair, Steele and Marshall… King will be

Roos going better under Clarkson?
Brisbane just kicked 150 points against them!!!

Is our forward line functioning better

Stats don’t support that

Backline superb
Mids pretty good

Opposition marks our kicks way too much i50

I think the smalls are a two-edged sword - a necessary evil.
They do get out-marked. But, they kick opportunistic goals.

Anyway, our forward line is less predictable, and no less productive - with King out.
Which is amazing.

What is scary is that we are 17th in the league for conversion i50.

Imagine when we rectify this.
