He will take plenty of time - which is completely fine

Tony74 is a club apologist- happy to hear his info

But when’s the last time he criticised the club or players in anyway?

Prefer to hear reality- not just what I want to hear!
Well, I could answer that, but I won't betray tony74's confidences.

He is far from a f****** club apologist and your comments are unfair.

You are obviously not on tony74's select pm list and with those sort of comments highly unlikely to be added in the future. Your bad.
I'm not on Tony74's pm list either but I think he always provides a great perspective. As for Isaac Keeler, I saw him at the Open Training session and he looked ready to go. Likely there's some conditioning to do, but he was not hampered in any discernible way. He looks an awesome athlete, just a beautiful mover and a fluent kick. We should be excited.

Thanks Tony, really appreciate the inside info. Looking at his junior highlights I think we’ve got a beauty. Any idea why Adelaide didn’t nominate him?

Weren't the Crows planning to use their next pick on him (just a few spots after ours)? Weren't they cheesed off when we swiped him?

Anyway, looks like a leaner, more agile Paddy Ryder.

Great to hear tony74's enthusiasm.

Marto - you could not be more wrong about Tony74.
He is inside the club and his bits of information are the only reason I still lurk around here. I know who he is - you are so far wide of the stumps on this..

I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Always best to hold judgement until a player gets games at AFL level and not get too swept up in the excitement generated by training watchers because as we know they are the even more fanatical and one eyed than your average fan and their excitement can be less than objective.

There's a massive gap between where Isaac is and him proving he's capable of being a player that can stand up in the closing minutes of a GF.

But excited by the prospect of him debuting and showing what he's got.

Same with Van Es

Looks a real prospect. The raw talent is there for sure. Not many guys of 198cms who can move like that. Now it’s down to hard work, application and luck.

Keelers main knock was consistency was it not? And perhaps application?

If this has been worked through he certainly has the physical properties and talent potential of a serious player

Great size and spring to him

I think I heard Keeler has hit the 200cm mark and about 90 kegs.

He is another Owens, he is a man and ready to go and he has a bit of mongrel in him too.

I'm very exciting about his prospects.

I'll trust Tony74 when he says he may only be a fortnight off.

If he is fit, then he is big enough.

I'm fairly confident he had no intention of playing with Adelaide and Adelaide knew it. They didn't even nominate him as an Academy pick, if I recall correctly. Their fans were livid.

Tex Walker hasn't done the crows any favours with their development squads. Apologies given aren't always accepted.

Campbell and Heath are safe as depth mate. He may go straight passed them both.

Vazelos wrote: Tue 04 Apr 2023 10:00pm Word is that Keeler is a huge possibility as you said to be something special but not enough has been seen obviously to be certain of this .
Hotton also has exciting possibilities.
Van Es also is promising.
There are concerns about Oscar Adams though.

From what I have seen of Oscar Adams he did well in the VFL his marking is good as a key Back.
He is also been working with Campbell as they would like to use him as a ruck as well, which he played in U18 footy at times.
So its not all doom and gloom for him as he is coming of a 2022 with a lot of injury's and at 198kg and maybe still growing could be good just might take a bit longer.
Keeler was at training today and look good from a limited preparation very exciting prospect.

Isaac is an excellent PROSPECT…he’s very light & needs a full preseason to get stronger.
He has been blessed with skill and athleticism but needs work on body strength and endurance.

Tony is far from a club apologist..it’s simply that currently there’s a lot of positivity about the place, those of us regular training watchers, which he in one of many, are best equipped to inform you guys.

I always feel bad for Tony. Because he works for the club… his expression of an opinion is met with a greater degree of cynicism than most.

Countless threads get started every year in the vain of “I really rate player X”.

Most aren’t followed up with you’re a club apologist

RTB says that Campbell has lost 6 ks this year and yes, he is ready to go.

In reserve we have as taller players, Campbell, Van Es, Keeler, Adams, Heath, Highmore and Allison.

Despite all our injuries we are still in good shape and the future looks rosey.

I know you mean 198 cm - but at 198 Kilo - that is a big lump of a lad!

I’ve heard he leaps tall buildings in a single bound!!!

Tony would defend Richo and Ratts too… and the players of the time

Look, I’ve got nothing against him, he knows a bit of info… but a critic he’s never been

Tell it straight is just what I prefer… not club spin

From what I can recall the Adelaide faithful were really really big on this kid but my impression is that the club itself weren’t really as into him.
I think they had concerns regarding his work rate and possibly to the idea that he was one of those kids that looked better than others because he was bigger.

My recollection is that on the phantom drafts, most had him going around the mid-20s. Lots of the Saints faithful wanted us to take him ahead of either James E or Olli. I don’t think anyone had him sliding down that low.
