Isaac Keeler
Obviously a lot of noise happening with our new boys playing at the moment. Isaac obviously hasn’t been front and centre due to the fact we haven’t seen him this year. The kid has the potential to be as good or not better than Pou, Owens etc. we will see him very soon, perhaps in a fortnight. The coaches are putting a lot of time into him, as well as the fitness staff. 2024 we may see a future champion of the club. Just my opinion

Re: Isaac Keeler
After seeing his U18 highlights package I couldn't believe he lasted to our fourth selection. What I saw was a top 10 prospect, not a player only worthy of pick 44 n the draft. To be that tall and that agile is a rare thing in the AFL. I was pumped when we called out his name.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Word is that Keeler is a huge possibility as you said to be something special but not enough has been seen obviously to be certain of this .
Hotton also has exciting possibilities.
Van Es also is promising.
There are concerns about Oscar Adams though.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Matthew Lloyd said Hotton was the best clearance player he'd seen at U18 level.
I've got high hopes for Van Es
As for Adams, what I've seen of him gives me reason to think that he has the skills and physical attributes to make it. He's deceptively quick for his height. He had some off field naughtiness early last year. Hopefully, that's all behind him.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Not long ago we were bemoaning the lack of talented young players on our list..fast forward to now and we have 10 players 18-21 on our list, most with a genuine shot at making it.
Exciting times ahead!

The more gun players the club develops the better we'll be. Let's hope Keeler is another one.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Isaac Keeler
Likewise couldn't believe he fell to us.
Last year's draft seemed to just open up for us like a gift.
The only knock seemed to be his willingness to get AFL fit.
But once you're in the environment and surrounded by a culture of excellence....surely that inspires the young bloke (not to mention seeing the pay packet his mate just landed)

Re: Isaac Keeler
Is that is as in playing for Sandy? You would think this to be the most likely path.
Or are you implying straight to seniors....

Re: Isaac Keeler
If he starts playing for Sandy in two weeks then he could actually be a sneaky chance to snag some time in the seniors before Max comes back. Who knows how long 19 year old Caminiti can keep it up as the focal point of the forward line.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 11:33pm

Re: Isaac Keeler
Will be one of those players that will be everything or nothing. It's all above the shoulders, and given what we've seen from the other kids this year, I think it's a good chance he will be huge for us.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Thanks Tony!
I can't believe Adelaide didn't snap him up, but they obviously had their sights set on another player. If he can emulate anything like his highlight reel on an consistent basis he will be the perfect foil for King moving forward. Just imagine a forward line with the marking power of King, Membrey, Hayes, Caminiti, Phillopou, Owens & Keeler. They all can't play at once but all of a sudden we have a bag of riches. Throw in Max Heath at some stage and our forward line talls are looking very good.
I have said it before but I believe our drafting (c/- Chris Toce) in the past 2 years, will set us up for something very special in years to come.

He is listed on the injury list as having a knee for 4 to 6 weeks.tony74 wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 9:36pm Obviously a lot of noise happening with our new boys playing at the moment. We may see him in a fortnight but that maybe walking the boundary line.

Re: Isaac Keeler
Wrong. He had a slight patella tendon tear when he came to the club, and unfortunately aggravated it pre season. Been training privately with coaches on the weekend and was in full training on Tuesday. Except for unforeseen circumstances it’s pre season conditioning and onwards and upwardsace wrote: ↑Wed 05 Apr 2023 3:47pmHe is listed on the injury list as having a knee for 4 to 6 weeks.tony74 wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 9:36pm Obviously a lot of noise happening with our new boys playing at the moment. Patella tendon that the one that joins the knee cap (patella) to the large lower leg bone (tibia).

Re: Isaac Keeler
Have to take a very cautious approach with those. They can be harder to get over than an ACL if it's a full rupture because of ongoing inflammation and pain which makes makes it really difficult to train, let alone play. It took Charlie Curnow three years to get over his fractured patella injury, and it took Jaeger O'Meara a similar amount of time to get over his patella tendon rupture, and he's never been the same player since.
I hope Keeler is definitely over the injury and it's now just about fitness. The club has to be really sure on this one because if he's back too early and the tear hasn't fully healed he could have ongoing issues for the long term that could derail his AFL career..

Re: Isaac Keeler
Keeler seems a long way off physically
Glad we picked him up, could be a bargain at 44
Interesting that Adelaide were not at all interested in Keeler, even though he was in their academy
To me
He could be Paddy Ryder or Spencer White

Re: Isaac Keeler
Seen him at training - he’s far from fit (injury notwithstanding)
He will take plenty of time - which is completely fine
Tony74 is a club apologist- happy to hear his info
But when’s the last time he criticised the club or players in anyway?
Prefer to hear reality- not just what I want to hear!

He is far from a f****** club apologist and your comments are unfair.
You are obviously not on tony74's select pm list and with those sort of comments highly unlikely to be added in the future. Your bad.

No need for him to be smeared in here. Poor form
