I wonder if Nicky Winmar gave him a big cuddle and a whisper in his ear last Saturday.

I think more likely that Bradley Hill has been mentoring Nasiah

There seems to be a really good bond building with our indigenous guys. Hill is a leader among the boys

I think Nasiah settled into life in Melbourne last year with guys like Ryder and Hill at the club. They would have been instrumental in guiding the young recruit and welcoming him into the team

Hill is becoming a valuable asset and I’m rethinking my criticism of the original trade. Maybe Hill’s cousin Ryder only decided to come to St Kilda after Brad told the club that Ryder was looking to move back to Melbourne. I think the combination of Hill and Ryder would not have been possible if Hill didn’t agree first.

Nas and the recruits from the 2021 and 2022 draft are the future

Jack Steele and Rowan Marshall will only be 29 at the start of our 2025 campaign. Jack Sinclair is 30 at the start of 2025

Hunter Clark and Nick Coffield will be 26. Max King will have some bulk and still a very young 24 years of age

Battle will be 26 and both Wilkie and Howard will be 29.

If we lose one or two of Seb Ross, Brad Hill or Crouch we can hopefully replace them with a couple of A grade Free agents

Great news. He's far from a finished product but has some great attributes to build on. I was concerned about him walking at the end of his contract when we had no bargaining power. Now even if he does want to go home in the next year or so we're in a position to be fairly compensated.

Great news !!!
Going forward we need to keep our good players and attract more good players to join us, rather than losing them.

There's a level of fragility that supporters and clubs expect from players, it's only natural. Then the dialogue starts:
He is too skinny.
He can't tackle.
He isn't strong enough.
He will get homesick.
Nasiah is the best top 10 pick with we've had in years and he has been instrumental in our turnaround.
Phillipou will hit his straps next year and may well eclipse Nas.
Nas is a gun.

No. 7 heaven.

"Wanganeen-Milera said he was proud to stay at St Kilda, as his teammates eye off the possibility of a fourth consecutive win to begin the season.

“I’m loving my time here at the Saints and am proud to sign on for another two years,” Wanganeen-Milera said.

“Obviously the lure to return home has been there, but I’m really confident with the direction the club is heading and want to be a part of it.

“I’ve made some strong friends at the club and have had some amazing mentors in Bradley Hill and Mason Wood show me the ropes, so I’m keen to see what comes next.”

what do you think about him playing further forward ? he seems to me the type of player that could be played anywhere

Yeah he’s an interesting one in that regard… am not sure that we’ve as yet uncovered his best position as the defensive aerial work isn’t necessarily his strongest suit.

That being said… he seems to be running a lot and is one of a few players that is charged with delivering the ball inside F50. I like him a little more as a pure winger that sees him less accountable to a marking forward.

I think he is a contested possession winning wingman who can feed off stoppage and hold ground but his 1 Wood is the the 1-2 give and get, ground breaking run and delivery forward.

Agree with all of this, except he was pick 11. Makes him look even better. I love that he’s wearing number 7, some of the stuff he does reminds me of Nicky.
