Anyone see this?
"How the stamping out of a drinking culture is turning St Kilda around under Ross - Footy Classified"

Re: Anyone see this?
Just more shade thrown at us from Harry Highpants who is well know to have no respect for the Saints along with his s*** club.
Why the f*** would players like Banger, Lenny, Gears, Rooey permit a drinking culture to exist in the club.
Just nonsense and exactly what turds like Wilson and Cornes want to hear.
RTB described Moorabbin as a very special place and he would not have returned if there was an ounce of truth in those defamatory comments.
I hope the club sues the dropkick.

More than four decades on, the selfless legends of the club who went along with Lindsay Fox's infamous "scheme of arrangement" have never been compensated.
Scandalous.

Still sniping, Lloydy?
Essendon supporters were calling hollow insults from the dark of the park as we walked back with the crowd. True sportsmen, with conveniently short memories of their infamy.

They should be looking at their own especially Stringer. A bit rich coming from Lloyd especially with the drug culture at Essendon.

Re: Anyone see this?
We can thank Hannaz for that as we've been pissheads for the past 4 years or so. In "younger circles" it is common knowledge that we have revived the party-boy culture and it was one of the first things RTB addressed when he got behind the wheel. The results speak for themselves and if anyone believes that we've had a good culture since RTB left till now are kidding themselves. About time this club got professional

The amount of times my Nephew has sent me photos he has taken with "Trashed" saints players over the last 5 or so years is enormous.
Not sure if Hannas is to blame as Jake Carlisle was always "BOG" according to him.

Re: Anyone see this?
I didn’t think the drinking comments were so bad, but Matthew Lloyd should ask himself why Essendon players did not stand up to the Essendon drug cheating regime. They were all ASADA registered athletes and knew what their responsibilities were. My daughter was an ASADA registered athlete and knew what he responsibilities were. When she was sick my sister went to give her a Codral Cold tablet and she could not take ir.
As for Caroline Wilson’s comment about our past players not being paid, why bring this up now? The media have had 30 years for this. Just a nasty bunch.
I do hope we can find a way to pay them.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

I don't think it's a storm in teacup, more Lloydy giving a mate some positive press re the drinking.magnifisaint wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 12:16pm "How the stamping out of a drinking culture is turning St Kilda around under Ross - Footy Classified"

One of the benefits of Lyon having mates in the media.
As far as outstanding payments to past players are concerned, surely Lindsay can make this happen, how much are we talking, anyone know?
It's really old economy stuff so I'm guessing we are talking token amounts?

Re: Anyone see this?
Ignorance on all counts.
Firstly, the Scheme of Arrangement is a Court of Law Order.
That is the beginning and the end of the matter.
IF you now give preference to Players, who at the time were Unsecured Creditors, what about the other Unsecured Creditors gripped by the Court Order?
And the Secured Creditors who took a haircut?
Simply, can not happen.
Never believe what you read and hear across media.

Lindsay f****** Fox. You would have to be f****** joking. That prick was the guy in charge when the scheme of arrangement was negotiated. The asswipe never put his hand in his own pocket for the saints but did for the brown baggers, Stop talking about things you know nothing about FFS.Vortex wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 6:25pmI don't think it's a storm in teacup, more Lloydy giving a mate some positive press re the drinking.magnifisaint wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 12:16pm "How the stamping out of a drinking culture is turning St Kilda around under Ross - Footy Classified"

Mate I hate to break it to you but I’ve seen first hand the party culture of the club over the past few years. Although I’m completely sure this exists at every club.saynta wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 2:09pm Just more shade thrown at us from Harry Highpants who is well know to have no respect for the Saints along with his s*** club.

Re: Anyone see this?
Wasn’t Breen owed $60K in 1984?
Adjusted for CPI probably around $200K or thereabouts.
Adjusted for housing inflation much much higher. Probably $1 million.
Breen is literally a Saint.

The news here is the new level of commitment shown by the playing group ..... if it is indeed true that the group had a drinking problem under Ratten's tenure

Stringer didn't look fit. Now if he was a AFLW member I would get in trouble saying he was fat, so I will stick to unfit.magnifisaint wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 4:18pm They should be looking at their own especially Stringer. A bit rich coming from Lloyd especially with the drug culture at Essendon.

Re: Anyone see this?
I read about this morning. I don’t understand this “drinking culture” Lloyd is referring to. Is he talking about the same group of players last year? Or is he referring to the old “party boy” culture from back in the day, being passed onto St.Kilda teams in recent years? If he can’t be specific on anything, then he probably should STFU.
On a side note, that Footy Classified program has dreadful panel of AFL pundits: Caro, Hutchy, Lloyd and Corny Kane

Re: Anyone see this?
If that was true, it would have made it to the Media last year. There is no proof, so probably people making things up.Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Tue 04 Apr 2023 6:55pmMate I hate to break it to you but I’ve seen first hand the party culture of the club over the past few years.
